Povetkin-Price round 3

Lol thats briliant and very true.

 

He was caught mid combination as he was throwing which caused him to lose his balance. Looked more dramatic than it was really. Sure he was stunned, but to say he was ready to go is a stretch.

 

Povetkin won, and in good fashion, but at the end of round 3 he was definitely there for the taking.

 

Just watched it. Jesh that was brutal! Nice guy price as well.

 

Povetkin felt the punches, but I don't think he was particularly hurt. The Sky commentary on that fight was atrocious, as it is with almost every fight, and made it seem like the fight was closer than it actually was. People listen to that garbage and it seeps into their minds. Povetkin was never in serious trouble. They said Povetkin was gassed, when it is Price who gassed and has a history of doing so. That fight ended conclusively, but based on the commentary you'd think Price could win a rematch.

 

Price is a bum. Imagine he did not have the height advantage? He would most likely had never won a fight.

 

The referee made 3 critical mistakes.

Intervening and giving Povetkin a standing count when Price was about to finish him.

Not intervening when Povetkin stunned Price in the 5th. If you're gonna give one guy a chance you have to do the same for the other.

And not giving Price a chance to get up off the canvas at the end.

 

Im not too certain that Povetkin was very badly hurt and wobbled honestly.He felt the punches ? Sure he did but ALMOST getting knocked out if the round had 30 extra seconds is not exactly true.Price was hurt himself and gassed.

With that being said , i just dont see Povetkin winning vs any top fighter 6`6 + and im big fan of his.

 

I thought it was a decent scrap while it lasted price finally had some confidence about him the 1st knockdown was an error hence the reaction from price. And he did catch povetkin with a great shot that did stun and hurt him. But price almost went back into his shell again.

The KO was brutal but was ultimately a free shot against a man who was dead on his feet

 

I was disgusted by the Sky commentary of that fight. Disgusted. They didn't even replay Povetkin knocking Price down in the third and devoted the entire mid-round highlight to Price knocking him off balance. I was watching that first round with Povetkin stalking, landing all the shots, then at the bell Price lands this grazing right hand or something. The commentator starts yelling how Price wobbled Povetkin and I was like, "Did that even land?" What is that cocksucker's name? I gotta' know. He's the worst. The worst. He's to color commentary what Stephen A. Smith is to...whatever Stephen A. Smith does.

 

Povetkin is an animal but he's come on the scene at the wrong time in his career. 5 years ago i believe he beats them all. Despite his impressive knockout he appears vulnerable and made for the likes of Joshua and Wilder. At 38 he's not going to get better, only downhill from here.

 

5 years ago was the Klitschko fight, his only loss. and he's definitely learned how to fight with tall boxers.. He's the first man to stop 6'7" Mariusz Wach (klitschko couldn't even stop him), and last night Price, arguably Price's most brutal stoppage.. it wasn't from gassing out like Price's other KOs. So I wouldn't count him out so easy.

 

Povetkin was very dangerous in his prime. It is too bad that WBC in cahoots with Wilder screwed him up. At this point he is getting old. I think that Hearn will try to prolong that WBA mandatory defense as long as possible. The older the better for Hearn.
