Parker would beat Wilder

During the fight I was thinking exactly the same. If it was Parker instead of Ortiz, Wilder was going to lose probably.

 

I've always thought this fight would be competitive. Parker has quicker hands than Wilder, that alone would give Wilder issues and Wilder relies heavily on his physical advantages, would be a new experience for Wilder to be beaten to the punch.

If Wilder doesn't respect Parker's power which he might not and fight like he did vs Duahupas and Molina and stand too much in front of Parker I can see Parker giving Wilder real problems.

But I favour Wilder, eventually his power will be the deciding factor once Wilder commits to his shots. Parker doesn't have the counter punching ability to keep Wilder off him or the defensive skills to evade that big right hand. Parker will put up a good fight, probably even give Wilder a scare or two but gets stopped late.

 

Parkers lack of counter punching annoys me a lot. Ortiz was counter punching a lot with some real oomph and that made Wilder a lot more cautious when he threw anything real.

 

No its not.

One thing Wilder has over the others is SPEED and POWER.

Of course someone like Tyson Fury at 100% fit could just stay away from the punching pocket and UD wilder. Likewise a prime Wlad would be defensively good enough to stay away.

I dont think Parker is defensively that solid. He might be hiding an Oliver McCall chin though and if he is then thats the only scenario I see him being able to beat Wilder.

If Parker comes through 12 against AJ and shows he has that Oliver McCall granite then I would also back him to beat Wilder. Very few fighters have that level of chin though, its a once in a generation thing.

 

Ortiz was quicker than Wilder IMO. Wilder couldn't throw as many jabs as it wasn't fast enough. Wilder landed 2 or 3 jabs in that fight but Ortiz picked up and blocked the rest. One of Wilders jabs that landed flush was fast but were talking overall here.

Whilst power is a product of maximum strength and maximum speed, Wilder is not that quick IMO. Powerful yes but doesnt have as quick a jab as Ortiz or Parker IMO.

 

Ortiz is the far better boxer but so was the ex-basketball player Washington, and so is Parker. No one is disputing that Wilder is absolutely trash as a boxer and drops most rounds against anyone half decent in the top 20

The issue Ortiz had and the issue Parker would have. Is the kind of power that separates you from your senses and knocks you sparko out. That ends fights. And he always finds that punch so far, because of his athletic ability. It would take an elite defensive fighter to beat him, or him getting caught cold early and stopped.

He would find it against Parker too.

I would say only Tyson Fury has the defensive game to stay away and cruise to a lopsided UD win over Wilder out the current crop.

 

Get the **** outta here. Joshua is just NOT good. He's maybe number 3 heavyweight.

Wilder KOs him.

Miller KOs him.

Joshua can't avoid Wilder's punches and he can't take it to the body.
