The female super featherweight main event will be the fourth WBC title defense of the undefeated 37 year old Wahlström. She has won all four of her world title bouts to date via wide unanimous decision.

The challenger is a former IWBF champ at welterweight, and is finally getting her shot after holding the Silver title and being Wahlström's top contender in the WBC for two years. She is perhaps best remembered as the girl whose former coach, Roger Mayweather, got arrested for choking her until she vomited blood (although she didn't go down without some measure of self-defense, breaking a lamp over the Black Mamba's head and causing him multiple injuries). She is three years Wahlström's junior and yet made her pro debut three years before the late-blooming Finn's.

They have a combined 4 knockouts between them, in 38 bouts. This is probably going the distance.

 

Is this light heavyweight prospect, Räsänen, any good? I read that he was ahead on the cards when he suffered his eleventh round KO loss to Mariano Hilario in the EBU title bid. That's no great shame. Hilario is better than his record suggests and has faced a very tough schedule.

 

Uhhhh...

I think I am now officially a Räsänen super-fan just for the mere fact that in his self-promotional, very weird short film in which he rolls his opponent's picture into a joint on his crotch and then lights it (???), he chose "Audrey's Theme" from Twin Peaks as the opening music.
