If Parker has sense, he'd try and fight Dilian Whyte in the UK. Since the WBC ranked #1 is being avoided by the WBC Champion. And if Luis Ortiz had sense, he'd try and fight another British boxer, because that is were the money is right now in the heavyweight division. Parker himself said he'd like to fight more in the UK, he knows the score.
Ortiz just has way too much skill for Parker, who doesn't have the equaliser that Wilder does. Ortiz by wide UD or late stoppage.
It makes complete sense for the reasons I expounded on at length above, and which you entirely failed to address. And of course HBO and Showtime would be interested in a fighter between two fighters that made up half the biggest hw fights on their Network so far this year and would be between the #3 and #4 fighters of the division to create a concensus#3 of the division. You are all that is wrong with boxing. The strategy of cowarding your way into title fights has more financial risk than taking risky but lucrative fights. Dennis Boytsov anyone?
Are some people seeing something different from Ortiz against Wilder than i did? Slow feet ,slow hands, no jab and no defensive guard?
It's only because the talent in the heavyweight division in North America is crap. It's like the division has completely moved east to Europe. Chisora would have the beating of Luis Ortiz.
The largest problem is that the US is so insular, that it's now affecting their own fighters abilities to compete with European 'levels'. When asked about the Joshua v Parker fight many american boxers picked Joshua because they 'hadn't seen/heard of Parker'...... Says it all. Small time mentality.
