    Maxie was somewhat at the end of the road, you might say...I'm sure that 1933 version of Baer that clobbered Schmeling would have knocked Nova somewhere into the middle of the next week.

    BAER WAS OLDER WHEN HE FOUGHT NOVA, BUT ALSO NOVA WAS A DIFFERENT FIGHTER THAN SCHMELING. NOVA WAS TALLER, MOVED MORE AND LET HIS HANDS GO MORE. SCHMELING MOVED RIGHT INTO BAER'S PUNCHING RANGE.
