someone mentioned Floyd and how Duran would easily beat him.. Wilfred was similar to Floyd, I think it was pertinent. Very pertinent.

They beat Duran and easily. if Duran were the greatest ever he would have found a way to win. Spinks beat Holmes and moved up to heavyweight to do it. Hearns beat Hill and moved up to 175 to do it.

A focused and in shape James Toney has to rank up there.

Duran outsized and past prime lost to two tremendous fighters and he lost to lesser fighters. **** happens.

I never said Duran was the greatest ever, and most people don't anyway. By your logic If Ray Robinson were really the greatest ever he would never have lost and would have found a way to win. Same with Greb and Armstrong. F*****g LOSERS.

Imagine fighting the best around in 5 decades and losing some fights lol

I take it you're talking about me ? You obviously misunderstood my post. I said I pick Duran over Floyd in terms of who was best at dealing with pressure fighters.

And anyway I also believe prime Duran would easily beat Floyd. There's also versions of Duran that showed up that would lose to Floyd. The two of them at their very best Duran wins every time. It is what it is.

Stylewise I do not see it, and I wish it were not true since I think Floyd handpicked guys at the right time to beat them, but Duran had a style which Floyd could beat as Wilfred beat him. Wilfred and Floyd had a similar style as far as defense. I think Wilfred fought better guys when they were prime and to me was greater than Floyd.

Floyd and Benitez are not similar. Floyd gets pinned to the ropes easily. Not the best place to be against Duran if we're talking prime Duran here.

    I know you're trolling btw.

Duran was a monster to anyone wanting to brawl. Jesus he was beating huge men like Barkley with one foot in a wheelchair wayyyyy up in the weights. Get him at his prime weight or even Welter and omg. The guy had the skills to take apart sluggers. He could get right there in the pocket and smash them while taking far less punishment than them. He had big power, an ATG chin, great stamina, great skill. What else does one need.

Marvin Hagler always seemed at his best when a fighter came straight at him.

Although he looked pretty useful when he, himself, went at Hearns like he'd been shot from a gun.

Marlon Starling was pretty good at dissecting this type of fighter.

At the beginning of Starling/Honeyghan, Lloyd was full of bravado and bluster. By the end he had been ground down and mentally owned by Starling.
