:pEvidently, more like the other way around. If Joshua thinks he can win, he wouldn't try to lowball his offer and make sure the fight happens. I call this BS - 'Offer to Take Cover'. :besos:

I understand that. That's not at all what I meant.

Povetkin is Joshua's WBA mandatory. Meaning, if Wilder doesn't want to fight for what he is offered, Joshua can still make huge money fighting Povetkin.

Povetkin will demand significantly less in the way of money to make the fight happen and at the same time, AJ/Povetkin will still do similar numbers to AJ/Wilder.

    Wilder isn't a big name, that's what i'm saying.

Coming all the way from New Zealand, I can assure you that only the minority of Europe and Australasia know who Wilder is.

This is the same troll that spouted the same B.S. when mayweather was low balling Manny. Not so fair now is it?

Hearn is having flashbacks of Spence and Brook and he's shaking in his boots. The same thing that makes you laugh will make you cry so Hearn needs to be fair and give up the forty so he won't be begging in the rematch if Wilder knocks AJ out in front of 80,000 brits. lol.

We all know this is how boxing works. Wilder needs to take the offer. If he wins, like he thinks he will, then he will command the big purse for the rematch.

So the offer is a flat fee of 12.5 million GBP which is 17.75 million USD

    Wilder should take that absolutely.

I think that is double anything he has previously made. It’s 3-4 times his normal pay.

    His biggest purse is 2.5

So it's more than 6 times that.

its 12.5 million in dollars not uk pounds

does an afternoon fight in the usa prohibit it being on usa ppv ?

its not our money being negotiated
dont know why so many people care about the money angle

hearn holds all the cards / team wilder can negotiate a better deal but i hope it gets done behind closed doors and not the megaphone of social media.

i just want to see the fight / in england in the summer .

    Why?

I read that Joshua was estimated to have made around £10mil for the Takam fight and around 20mil for the Parker fight.
I read Wilder had a career high pay of just over $2mil for the Ortiz fight
The £ is a bit stronger than the $.
If say there was 30mil in the pot and Wilder was offered 20%, that would be around 3 x more than his biggest payday.
Now im not saying that should necessarily happen but Wilder has no more to lose than he has in any of his other title fights whereas Joshua now has added another world title to his collection and taken all of the risks and big fights to get to this stage.
Wilder may feel its about his legacy whilst still making more than he has previously
Im not saying what someone should or shouldnt do and definitely wouldnt want someone who is putting their health/life on the line to not get what they should.
Just a comment and not worth anything

Wilder vs. Ortiz salaries: Deontay Wilder nets career-high $2.1 million payday

    https://www.bloodyelbow.com/2018/3/...ntay-wilder-career-high-2-million-boxing-news

Anthony Joshua vs Joseph Parker prize money and purse: How much will they earn each?

Joshua’s win over Wladimir Klitschko, his first unification fight, drew 1.5 million pay-per-view sales in the UK alone and the bout netted the Brit £15million.

With such huge earnings behind him, promoters Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn were unwilling to offer Parker anywhere near a 50:50 split of the profits from the WBA, IBF and WBO title bout. By comparison, Parker’s last defence against Hughie Fury in Manchester earned him around £1.1m.

When a deal was finally struck, the split is understand to have been agreed at around 67:33 in favour of Joshua, in recognition of his higher status and bigger draw.

The total purse for the fight is, if Joshua vs Parker pay-per-view sales hit expected targets, around £24m, meaning Joshua will pocket £16m while Parker takes home a career-high of £8m.

However, Joshua will widen the gap between their respective earnings with sponsorship payments: the 28-year-old has major deals with JD Sports, Beats headphones and Lucozade along with a number of others, all of which should see him earn up to £2m on top of the purse split.

Anthony Joshua vs Joseph Parker prize money: how much of the fight purse will the winner get?

Including sponsorship deals, pay-per-view revenue, Joshua is expected to earn close to £20m from tonight's bout.

Parker, on the other hand, is guaranteed £13m from the bout - significantly more than Joshua's previous opponent, Carlos Takam, who pocketed an estimated £1 million from his defeat to AJ last October.

Hearn should settle with 60/40 while he still can. I think Wilder has more than doubled his instagram followers in a less than a year. He's getting more and more popular fast. Or as Wilder would say, popularer and popularer.
