AJ defiently is a big part to play in that but if you listen to Hearn talk about AJ's deal and the risk of him leaving matchroom you see a guy who really isn't concerned. The business isn't dependent on AJ.

    Yes and No.

Would he still be the top promoter in the game? Yes

Would he have as much £££ in the bank without Joshua? Of course not......

But that's like saying would boxing be as big without the incredible Ali story? No.

Eddie has the privilege of promoting in a country that's highly passionate about their boxing. I highly doubt he will fare better than the promoters here in America.

Boxing isn't even the 10th biggest sport over here ffs.

Stop being so insular and look at what happens outside the US rather than believe the drivel you're told.

You need to get your emotions in check, I never said anything about were boxing ranks in the UK, so don't go around insulting my world view or lack there of.

This might be the worst thread I've seen this year, maybe all time I'm not sure.

Why are you bothered about a promoter and what he pays people?

Surely your interest is in fights between boxers?

Boxing is not a 'major sport' in the UK.

I can name 12-15 sports which have higher attendances and more air time......

    Can you?

It's the Wilder fanboys that are complaining about splits man.

    You're targeting the wrong guy.

You're claiming that Hearn's success is due to the fact that the UK is more 'passionate' about boxing than the US......that isn't true.

The US has more foreign PPV stars than the UK.....that tells you everything about popularity.

I'm not targeting anyone, I don't care what they get paid.

I just can't believe this thread has actually been made. Who cares who the promoter is or what the boxers get paid? They have managers to worry about that stuff. We as fans should only be concerned that we get competitive match making and exciting fights.

It's not difficult to understand....is it?

The only was to get 'competitive matchmaking and exciting fights' is through caring what each party gets paid.

If Joshua offers Wilder 99%, and Wilder turns it down, will you care then?

No we don't have to care about that. The fighters have enough people in their team to ensure they get a payday. Whether Wilder gets paid £1 or £1 billion makes no difference to me whatsoever.

All I care about is the two fight each other. I couldn't care less who the promoter is or what the purse is. I'm not a fan of bank accounts, I'm a fan of fights.
