Dwyer is the funniest boxing guy on YouTube

Most of his hedges don't even make logical sense. Many of them being odds of 1/4,1/5, etc. So even if that comes in, you are still losing money big time. I don't get his thinking behind it.

 

Well, the idea is you cover the loss, find the best market for your hedge, but obviously the hedge is just to recoup a significant portion and not the whole.

 

He used to be decent but he's beyond a joke nowadays . There is NO WAY he makes money on boxing.

 

Dwyer said on his recent video that the winner of Wilder-Joshua won't be undisputed because there is a certain WBA regular champ by the name of Manuel Charr.

I expected a UD (or British stoppage, after the Takam fight which should’ve been a UD) and I saw a correctly called UD myself.

Although the scores were ridiculously wide as Dwyer noted.

 

If Charr ever fought AJ then watch Dwyer find a creative way to justify betting the house (or in his case, the 1988 Toyota) on Charr.

 

Good find. I watch his videos very infrequently, will typically wind up catching one every few months or so, but I'm plenty familiar with the guy given that he's been putting his mug out there for about a decade — I've never seen him anywhere close to this emotional before. He definitely lost some money he couldn't really afford to lose on Joshua-Parker.

He doesn't really understand boxing that well or have great instincts for it, he's a typical 'sports' bro in that sense (albeit one who's been watching a long time and is handy with facts and stats), but he does come with some interesting perspectives and observations (even if, as another poster noted, he makes entirely too much of some of them), so I wouldn't ever try to discourage him from putting his analyses/breakdowns out there. However, he needs to knock the 'gambling advisory/how to bet on boxing' stuff on the head. He sucks at it.

In the six years since that was uploaded, Froch's hunger for recognition in his home country was conclusively sated when he scored a highlight reel KO in front of 80,000 folk at the national stadium. Here in 2018, Dwyer is suffering with his own "recognition problem" — everyone recognizes that he has a gambling problem except him.

 

Darn it, he even has to stop filming because his kid starts crying — I'd cry, too, if my gambling addict pop bet my college fund on a fight.

 

I enjoy listening to him sometimes because he's a good orator and storyteller, but his understanding of betting, odds, and probabilities is terrible. I'm not convinced he has a winning record.

He will often pick the underdog at a big price, saying it's so mispriced, then hedge by backing the other guy by KO! He recommended Parker to win at 9/1, hedged with Joshua by knockout.
