What did you think about the kid? 6'6 superweltherweight prospect. I enjoyed his fight yesterday and has surprisingly good inside fighting skills for such a tall man...It was the fignt of the night imo...He was ripping good short punches on the inside and seemed very poised in there...thoughts?
This content is protected I actually physically wince watching this guy punch, I'm just expecting his twiglet arms to hyperextend and snap on impact every time.
Floyd has an extremely long reach tho. McGregor was one of the few who had a longer reach than Floyd. (Checked it and De La Hoya and McGregor were the only two to hold an advantage. Judah had the same reach as Floyd. According to Boxrec) On a bit of a side note; Paul Williams had a longer reach than most heavyweights.
I know Floyd had a long reach for his height but no one can tell me a 6'6 foot man only holds a one inch reach advantage over a 5'8 man. He has probably been measured from shoulder to wrist
Probably. But like i said, it can vary drastically. Marciano, Duran, Ward and Hatton had T-Rex arms. Meanwhile Paul Williams had a longer reach than most at heavyweight.
duran is 5'7 his reach is 66inch, i think thats 3-4 cm difference in height/reach. ward is 6'0 his reach is 71inch, thats a 3cm difference in height/reach. hatton was 5'71/2 and a reach of 65 and half inches, 5-6cms difference. marciano did have t-rex arms 5'10, reach 68inches, 6cm difference. 6'6 (198cm) tall sebastian fundora has a reach of 73inch (185.42cm) a huge difference of 12.6cm. thats a humongous difference to the ones above. i reckon he has a 78-80inch reach. and that site has it wrong completely.
He did a surprisingly good job staying on the inside and staying close enough to negate almost all of his opponents sporadic power attack last night, considering his exceptional height. Then he went to work with a quite frankly very impressive work rate and broke his man down with body work and lots of shovel hooks/uppercuts. I'm a fan, and could care less if he's destined for greatness. An entertaining fighter who lets it all hang out.
I've only seen the highlights (forgot to set a DVR recording and got home in between the Cherry vs. Galarza and James vs. Ramos co-main events) but yeah it seems he was too much for my friends VeShawn physically, although his defense seems to have some glaring holes just from the clips floating around on Twitter. One big looping right from Owens in particular sent Fundora's head bouncing from side to side like a Bozo-Bop. (remember those? ) Idk...jury's out. Let's see him fight somebody his own size before drawing firm conclusions...like maybe David Price.
