I see what you are saying, but Eddie does play a big part. If Frank had been the sky promoter the past 4/5 years, reading off his sheet's at press conferences, then Boxing wouldn't be no where near as popular as it is today. Heck, I know Hearn is ducking Wilder for now but if Frank was over on SKY then we might be discussing AJ vs Rudenko just now.
Maybe, but Warren has been there and done that. Naseem Hamed, Ricky Hatton, Mike Tyson, on Warren shows on SKY. Truth is, if Klitschko hadn't lost to Fury, it's doubtful that Joshua would have a genuine world title by now, certainly not 6 title fight wins on his record. Warren, as cautious as he is, could very well have taken that same "risk" against Charles Martin for the IBF, as Hearn did. If he was promoting Joshua.
Frank's almost matching Eddie now with BT. Also Frank's last show on SKY did better ratings than 75% of Eddie's shows in the last 6 years.
what about flannagens world title fight last april, where the fe hundred that were there had left by the time his fight started? and yafai isn't one of matchrooms top fighters, warrens best/biggest fighters like saunders and flannagen and liam smith dont sell out arenas in their home towns for world title fights.
The reason for those poor ticket sales is because the shows and boxers were hidden away on a niche boxing channel. This is the reason for Frank's poor ticket sales. People can't seem grasp this. Now that Frank has a channel equal to SKY he's doing much better.
Flanagan hasn't fought for over a year. How can his profile improve when he doesn't fight? People here simply lack the knowledge and understanding to debate this issue.
