Selby has sold 120 tickets...i cant see the cardiff boys ordering from leeds utd. so its 99% warrington support. The police is the ones who have said no more than 25000
TF would never be a star whether he was with frank or Matchroom. The geezer just doesn’t have either the fire or charisma and you need one of the two in your personality IMO. As Genius also said, he doesn’t fight very often - I think it’s a combinsation of injuries and just not being in love with boxing. He seems to do it more as a supplement to his day job rather than a career.
I wasn’t necessarily thinking they would be actual Selby fans or that they event that they would buy tickets in advanced. We all know that you can just roll up to these venues and buy tickets outside etc.
Even AJ was pissed and looked uncomfortable about Martins pathetic effort especially when the friggin glitter and tinsel came down from the roof
That's irrelevant. The title was a joke, the title holder was a joke, the fight was a joke. The broadcast was ridiculous, introducing the fight referencing the great heavyweights of the past, Muhammad Ali etc. Boxing needs to have a little bit more respect for itself. If Charles Martin was heavyweight champion of the world, I'm Captain James T. Kirk from the starship Enterprise.
Fair play to Joshua and Hearn for making loads of money. Doesn't change the fact that the fight with Martin was crap and that the title they contested was a paper title with the most dubious lineage.
that king charles fiasco was a real black eye for boxing. its clear as day that he was overpaid to basically give up the belt. but people pay for crap so crap is what they get. and to put that into context, matchroom gave martin 6 or 7 million to buy that trinket, while at the same time the careers of their other decent fighters were being mismanaged or forgotten about completely. brook being the biggest loser in this whole sorry affair.
Amir Khan sold out now. Funny how Khan's last attempts in the UK struggled to sell tickets but as soon as he goes with Eddie his first fight is a complete sell out.
