Is not that Broner is not disciplined, Broner is a coward, relative to boxing standards

I am actually baffled that people don't see it. Sure, he has more heart than the average person, but like everything in life, there are levels to braveness.

If Broner senses his opponent has nothing, within the first few rounds, he grows as the fight goes on. Otherwise, he cowers and rarely lets his hands go. This has been going on since the beginning of his career, just watch the ponce de leon fight.

According to Vargas, he never mentioned Broners loses, but Broner brought them up himself. That goes to show you how they haunt him.

Broner is a bully, who goes on tirades when nervous/scared. Even when he loses, he goes against the post fight commentary crew.

    Rant over

    I disagree.

Despite Broner having natural talent, he is very technically flawed. He however has the heart of a lion. He proved it against Maidana, and he proved it against Porter.

His low work ratio, and his cement feet are his undoing. When you fight in the lower weights you need to throw punches otherwise you can be easily outworked like was the case against Ponce De Leon.

There is a video of Broner a little after the Garcia fight, and Boner was acting like himself. But the moment his losses were brought up, he completely changed. You could see that depression hit him.

You almost changed my mind, as you made some good points. But I still feel as though if his heart didn't fail him, he has what it takes to have won the fights you mentioned.
I feel as though he freezes and just goes into a defensive mode, when it gets tough in there
    Either way, good post

Broners main problem is he has an absolutely despicable excuse for a mandible.

I've never thought AB had the skills to be a top fighter. He is a gifted fighter, but he is too technically flawed to be at the top. Part of him freezing is his inability to know how avoid punches. He relies too much, almost exclusively on his athleticism, and his boxing IQ is very low.

Like Joe Louis and Mike Tyson said, everyone has a plan until they get hit. It doesn’t take too much for Broner to go into a defensive shell when he gets hit. It’s common in boxing, fighters going into a defensive shell when they're hit too hard or often. Judah, Mosley, Camacho, and Tua are examples. Actually, almost every fighter does this to some extent.

For a world class fighter, Broner is easy to get to shell up and go into survival mode.

It's why Maidana was such a G. The harder or more often he got hit the more intensely he poured on the pressure in response.

The problem with Broner is that once he realizes he's in there with a boxer that will make him work really hard for the win he decided to just pack it in and just wait for the paycheck.

Less to do with cowardice and more to do with inability to adapt. Not knowing what to do. He's faced adversity and came back. Don't let his persona cloud your judgement.

Say what you want about Broner but he is no coward. He never lived up to his potential but he never ducked anybody.

Oh he’ll face anyone but against better opponents he does go in there with a view to not getting knocked out which is why he could never hope to win unless he overcame this habit.

He fights the same way he always has and that has been his undoing. He hasn't improved.
