Someone to do proper 20 minute+, uncut interviews with the fighters in America, like IFL does with the British boxers. At the moment all you have is the shitty ESNews, Boxing Voice, Fight Hype etc. which do 2 minute long clips with intros and outros and you only really get 30 seconds of actual talk. Get the Boxers in the USA talking, show us who they are. I believe IFL has played a part (even if it is a small part) in the boxing renaissance the UK is currently experiencing. The raw uncut interviews with Fury, Bellew, Haye, Brook, Saunders etc. all raise the fighters profiles.
Those broken up videos just to get extra views are the WORST thing that's ever existed on this planet...except Harry Greb's shadow boxing.
I agree with the OP Except UK fighters are far more available to interview and not so concerned about thier manager(s), advisors (lmao) networks, promoters and the possibility of lawsuits for simply giving an unscheduled interview. If Wilder wants to give an interview with Dontaes Boxing Voice for instance, it has to be presented to his mgr, advisor and promoter who then figure if the voice should be paying 100/500/5000 etc for the interview. And how much there cut is for arranging it. American boxing is a INTERCOURSING racket. UK boxing has strict protections in place for the fighters so they can't be strong armed
Er...Ellie missed out this part of his career trajectory...NBA....to JEW JITSU....to Boxing! LOL This content is protected
I've noticed how lacking the US is in this department as well. Ellie is probably the most punchable boxing personality of I'm being honest.
He's terrible and his focus on Oxnard and the Garcias, is just boring. You can tell Mickey, Brandon, Loma etc all find him irritating. But the problem with Ellie is he never asks questions that might get some kinda insight technically. Rahaem from seconds out, Kugan etc and the other's all do it, but Ellie kinda asks celebrity questions....cos he has zero fight knowledge. "Did ya hear Floyd bought a new Bentley?" Who gives a ****!
It's amazing to see how poor US promotion within the sport of boxing is today. Don King, in an age without social media, was streets ahead of what there is today. Hearn has talked about it for months tbh..... Referencing how brash someone like Wilder is, and how popular he should be, especially in a 'love to hate' role.....a bit like Mayweather....but nobody knows who he is. He also references Jacobs and his amazing story with cancer.....but again it's never told and he's not known. Guys like Garcia and Spence just seem so dull though.... Where's a Tyson Fury? Or even a Bellew?
He knows some boxing but to get the kind of access he gets he has to purposely put out a fluff softball product. And yeah, the "lighter side of sport"... Bentley's, vacations, diamonds women etc etc But steering clear of confronting any fighter on a duck or the politics. Occasionally he'll disagree with a fighters take but only with that stupid....I don't know.... fighter A made this big improvement or looked better vs common opponent but I've never seen him call a fighter out. Soft soft soft
