    :confundio:

What a coment to make after he ducked BouBou and Sergiy Dchenko to fight a retired 154 pounder

And half of his defenses were of the same second tier title thats currently held by Manny Charr.

What annoys me is that they take pride in owning that second tier WBA belt. They are counting that.

Hopkins' is better but there isn't that big a difference in their 160 runs IMO, especially if you consider Golovkin to still be unbeaten. His run has been a lot more fun to watch as well

I see the IBF only allowed this if he agreed to fight Sergei D after, which gets a big sexy seal of approval from me. Viva La IBF

Golovkins defenses have been so poor the WBA refused to sanction one and the IBF refused to sanction another.

Both Brook and Vanes should go down as non-title exhibition bouts. :loco::smile:

We could even see GGG dump the only belt he ever won from a champion in a few months time.

Golovkin was the real WBA champ even when he had the "second tier" title. WBA super title was awarded to Sturm after he ducked Golovkin, that was one of the most corrupt moves of WBA.

Yet Golovkin never won the belt. He got ducked, doesn't mean he automatically becomes the champ. He never beat the champ.
    BS logic.

One of whom really lost to Sturm, who lost to Geale, who lost to...

I'm teasing, but that kind of logic gets thrown around here plenty!

Team GGG have always been duckers, I’ve been saying it since Ward. It’s okay just don’t call yourself one of the best middleweights of all time when you clearly duck challenges.

I'll go along with that statement of Golovkin's.

Hopkins looked beatable in several of his defences. He'd been knocked down, and, along with the decent fighters he faced he had some bum padding too. He also lost at 160 which is something to think about.

Golovkin on the other hand had the entire division swerve him when he was up and coming. People like Sturm and Canelo dropped belts rather than face him. Bigger guys like Chavez Jr and Froch suddenly had better things to do when the offer came in. Eubank lost his pen. Mandatory challengers like Jacobs wanted extra to fight him.

His KO record is phenomenal, he hasn't been so much as buzzed in his rampage. Fights that people say "exposed" him, like Ouma and Brook ended up with the other guy broken and in hospital. He's broken faces; he's broken ribs.

His only "draw" - and I use that loosely, because everybody knows that he won it - came against a top shelf fighter roided to the ears in the form of Canelo. Hopkins drew with Segundo Mercado after getting dropped into the bargain.

    IMHO, Golovkin's reign was better.

Yep, what you are saying is BS logic exactly. Golovkin automatically became the WBC champ after he was the mandatory of Alvarez and got ducked by the Mexican. It doesn't matter that he didn't beat him. GGG was also the mandatory of Sturm, Sturm ducked him and the corrupt WBA instead of stripping Sturm's belt they elevated him to "super" champion, while Golovkin became the regular one. If you had any sense of justice you would know that Golovkin was the real champion, and Sturm was the paper champ no matter what BS belts was given to them by corrupt WBA.

Ward was the one that refused the fight. He came out again after the third time Golovkin's team said they'd fight him, caving in to his demand for a 168lb fight, and Ward said that he wouldn't even consider it.

    All very true.
But the point is that Golovkin didn't fight the real champ.
All in all, it´s a BS belt and I ****ING HATE THE ABC's....
    ****ING BURN THEM ALL!!!!

Both of you have good points, I have mixed feelings on this one myself.

On one hand, Golovkin certainly deserved to be the WBA full champion - Sturm 100% ducked him, it was as clear a duck as you will ever see. So in a sense he was the rightful champion and it isn't unfair for him to claim it as such.

But on the other hand, there's no getting around the fact that the WBA regular is a fake belt. It's not a real world title, no matter how much the WBA / any fighter with it tries to pretend it is. So in a technical sense, those defenses really shouldn't count.
