Back then when i used to spar i used to have pretty good footwork and movement but then i took a break from boxing and came back recently with few pounds heavier (been 2 months back) and my footwork has gotten way worse than before even my sparring partners notices it, i dont know what im doing wrong is it the extra weight? lack of training? people at my gym that weight doesnt matter, so i really dont know whats wrong

Your body goes through a lot of changes at that age. Clumsiness or awkwardness sometimes just happens as you go through the maturation process...which is why most people don't reach their physical prime until their mid 20s.

Your sparring partner has likely gotten better with experience and practice over the last year and a half while your skills have stayed the same or slightly eroded. Lack of training is always a killer. Just keep at it and make sure you talk to your coach about proper balance and footwork.

I think so too. Try to improve it. And it will be better now
