    What's with posters that literally only show up like wild animals digging through the garbage after the trash has been taken out? :lol: You literally never see most of these guys except after certain fights, like clockwork.

    Life happens, you get older, there just isn't as much time.

    Just gotten more selective with what I watch and post about as I've gotten older.

    :lol: yes. And he knows what it's like to be hit by a huge punching LHW in Kovalev, even if it's only in the gym.

    Great point. I missed that and just focused on what he said about GGG.

    But you're right -- if he got hit by Kovalev and now said GGG hits the hardest he's ever been hit, that's a huge statement.

    Darnell Boone said GGG hit him harder in sparring with big gloves than Kovalev did in small ones 2 real fights. But I'm not sure if Vanes meant it's the hardest he's ever been hit in a fight or the hardest he's ever been hit in his life whether it be in a real fight or in the gym. But either way he's felt the power of a huge punching LHW in Kovalev in the gym so he knows what it's like to be hit hard by bigger fighters than GGG.

    Great stuff.

    What makes GGG so deadly is his skill level. There are many guys who can hit hard, but they have an incomplete skill set. So you just figure out where the weakness is and nullify their power.

    With Golovkin, at least in his prime, there were no weaknesses. There was nowhere to run. Which is why guys just decided the best choice was to not get into the ring with him.

    GGG is not a perfect fighter (no one is). He's not the fastest, he doesn't have the greatest movement, and so forth. But he's a perfect fighter in his style. And (in his prime) his style could deal with anyone else's style, because of his superior skill level.

    There are more holes to be exploited in his game now, of course, as he ages. But this guy was always the "real deal," even when some people could not recognize that reality.

    Well said.

    He's definitely been slipping for a while now and, as you say, there are more holes to be exploited now. However, he's got a hell of a chin, seriously heavy hands (both hands), that high skill level, a great jab, cuts off the ring really well, and Sanchez has him throwing those unpredictable combos that are very difficult to read and defend against. He's a beast albeit a faded one. But even a faded GGG is hell on wheels.

    Kinda felt bad for VM out there. He was a sitting duck.

    Saw his lights go out before he dropped. That triple jab set up the beautiful combo to end it.

    Admirable he took the fight on short notice against a big puncher, but this type of ending seemed inevitable.

    He got a good shot or two in before his demise, props for that. Nothing to be ashamed of, Golovkin is a middleweight beast.

    He’s not unbeatable in any sense but it won’t be a walk in a park for anyone.

    Vanes is no elite, he’s also not the same fighter he was before layoff but Golovkin needed this fight as his reflexes do seem to slow down.

    Interested to see where GGG goes next.

    I don’t think this fight made BJS want to get in there with him any more than before.

    Derevyanchenko brings nothing to the table. Don’t know why people think Jacobs deserves another shot after his last fight. Charlo ain’t ready to get the bizness.

    Canelo it is. Hopefully on GGG’s terms, but doubtful. He lost nearly $20M on that failed drug test, only one guy can get him that money, and everyone knows it.
