How do you think the fight have ended had Haye not dropped out of the event?

It was scheduled on September 2013.

    Vote and discuss.

I'd pick Fury by clear unanimous decision.

People will lie and say they would have picked Fury.

But I remember at the time british boxing fans despised Fury and didn't believe he deserved to share the same ring as Haye let alone win. They were shouting from the rooftops that he would get blasted out within 5 rounds.

Go on youtube and see the build up to see evidence of this.

    They were wrong.

I'm sure Fury had all the tools to beat David Haye. At that time (2013) I wasn't sure who would win though. I underestimated Fury back then and thought it would be 50/50 fight.

At the time I was quite sure Haye would smash him to bits. I picked Chisora and Wlad against him too. Retrospectively, the choices seem pretty obvious.

I picked Haye by early KO at the time, certainly with Fury being a total sucker for that right hand and it being Haye's money punch.
Now I'm not so sure Haye actually still had that right hand at the time.

I thought it was obvious Fury was the superior being back then and had successfully got into David Haye's head.

The problem is David Haye is such a slick snake oil salesmen he can make most believe anything. So what chance did a gullible British Public have when he told them in the thousands that he would make a easy nights work of Fury.

He was very wise to take the escape route of cutting his own eyebrow open to get the fight cancelled.

It prolonged his career since it left question marks. Had he followed through with the fight, Fury would have given him the overdue beating which Bellew finally had given him then and there would have been no coming back from it reputation since Fury was since as a complete and utter joke.

Yes , that is true. People forget how much a joke Fury was on here prior to the Chisora rematch.
About 10 people picked him to beat Haye. Me , Lep , Bailey and a few others. Maybe @Baliey can uproot the prediction thread he made.

At the time I would of picked Haye, believing Fury was too sloppy would make a mistake like he did vs Cunningham and get flattened. But Fury was a better fighter than I gave him credit for at the time. After he beat Chisora a 2nd time I realised he was better than I previously thought and even though I still didn't think he'd beat Wlad, I said at the time he would pose Wlad problems before Wlad's power turned the fight his way.

Now with hindsight, I'd pick Fury. He'd use his height and reach and out box Haye. Haye would be more of a threat than Wlad was because while he would be out boxed by Fury just like Wlad was, he'd at least be able to counter punch and pose some threat when Fury lead. But it wouldn't be enough, Fury would be too mobile and rangy and wins a clear UD.

Fury would have almost definitely won, and it would have been a huge surprise to everyone.

That doesn`t matter, Fury proved he was better than Haye by the way he took the fight to Wlad, maybe not footwork wise but by being far more confident than a frozen Haye was, Haye is not a big fight boxer, the biggest fight he won was a guy nowhere near as good as Fury and no you are right I didn`t know any of this in 2013 but I did know Haye was never world class and was knocked out by a cruiser weight.

Needed to set up the right with a jab and he didn`t have the skill to out jab a long reach like Wlad`s and Fury`s.

Here`s how Haye would of had to fight and he`s never shown any of these skills.

Why are you telling me this?

Anyone with good observation skills could see well before the Tyson Wlad fight that Fury was all wrong for Haye.

Height reach and agility were all in his favor.

The problem was people hated his guts because he was a gypsy. Similar to how many hate Bellew and give him no credit because he is scouse.

The only thing that changed after Fury beat Wladimir was that many casuals were more than willing to jump on the bandwagon and give the man a break from the usual " I can't wait until so and so knocks out this gypsy ****"
