In SRR's era Golovkin would have multiple losses because he'd be fighting with more regularity.

How could you favour a fighter over Roy who has a 70" reach and is there to be hit?

He struggled with Jacobs and Canelo, yet you'd actually have favoured him over a guy with Roy's speed?

I can understand someone giving him a shot, but favouring him is just baffling to me.

GG is slow in comparison to Roy, he has a shorter reach, and he's always there to be hit.

I think Hopkins beats him and I also think Saunders if given the opportunity gives GGG a good fight. Regardless of whether you like Saunders or not (which most don’t).

This is just IMO... but out of the prominent middleweights since and including Hopkins era, and talking best versions of each fighter including Golovkin.

    Would beat Golovkin
    - Hopkins
    - Roy Jones

    50/50
    - Pavlik
    - Pirog

    Would not beat Golovkin
    - Taylor
    - Martinez
    - Williams
    - AA
    - Trinidad
    - Sturm
    - Jacobs
    - Canelo

    Not Sure

Nunn would be a nightmare for GGG stylistically.

McCallum took punches from a prime Julian Jackson. He wouldn't be afraid of GGG's power.

RJJ, Toney, SRR, Hagler, Monzon, Steele, Harry Greb, Mickey Walker, Ray Leonard. I'd also give Tommy Hearns, Dick Tiger, Don Fullmer, Archie Moore, Charley Burley, and Nino Benvenuti a chance.

    Hmmm, could be?
Only thing I can say for a fact is this is a mythical question. Who wins modern king kong or the original? JK!

    True.

The one thing I give as an advantage for every old schooler is the frequency in how often they fought.
GGG 39 fights over 12 years, If he or Floyd fought in the old era with no PPV, then they are duking it out every other weekend. Someone like James Toney is virtually the last one to fight regularly for years.

Credit to GGG he's beaten his era, but I can't forget how Canelo did outbox him early on. Jacobs good job as well, some say he won...

Original King Kong is only like 25 feet tall. Skull Island King Kong is 100 feet, and the new one is going to be even bigger depending on how tall they want Godzilla to be 150-500 ft.

    KongJoshua huh?
OK, good reply! Yeah but the older one had to fight Godzilla in his prime, new Kong sits on a Island waiting for zombies to feed him cute women.
New Kong is the Valuev of Kongs!

    Damn, I missed this.

Exactly. This is where today's era can't compete- longevity and durability.
