Why do RING magazine still recognize Alvarez as champion ?

We all knew The Ring was headed this way the day it was bought out by a boxing promoter. Why have a Ratings Panel and an Editorial Board if their decisions can be overruled by anyone at all for any reason. What a shame that such a prestigious boxing institution has lost it's soul to a drag queen has-been and his PED laden ginger maiden.

All the rules are bent for CLENelo. Let's be real though, Canelo does make a lot of money for everyone involved around him, including the WBC and ODLH. Of course he will be protected even if he comes out dirty on a PED test (only a 6 month suspension that conveniently ends before Sept. 16).

So this also makes clear that the decision was made before one of the reasons given in Canelo's defence, as the hair follicle test result came in quite some time after the April 18 ruling.

Most people saw the demise on boxing's #1 publication coming when they were bought out by GBP, and there has been enough evidence of that over the years. This though clearly pushed it over the edge and Ring as we knew it is no more.
I read about people ending their decades long subscriptions over this, and also that the magazine has reduced in size since May... Oscar is running it into the ground.

Oscar put fishnets on El Pollo and called him the champion of all chickens! How did El Pollo lay an egg?

Yep, up until he had broken at least 5 of their rules, but because it was possible to interpret the rules differently (stupidly) he had broken only one for sure.
That admitted they handled that one poorly as well.

I don't normally agree with Doug F. (think he's off mark
in a lot of situations), but in this case it's great that he
called out the shenanigans and pulled them to the forefront.
Of course, this will likely cost him his position with the publication
but it is what it is. Truth be told, Canelo fails to meet at least 3 criteria
for still being considered the "ring" guy at MW. Hilarious that they
don't follow their own criteria, even more hilarious that they are
brazenly disregarding the criteria for certain individuals.

I applaud Doug Fischer for putting this disgraceful interference in the editorial independence of Ring magazine into public view.

I hope golden boys commercial competitors dismantle every last rung of their rotten operation. They're a blight on boxing.

I look forward to the day ring magazine is independent. Until then, their rankings will have to be viewed as hopelessly compromised.

It's been quite a while since their rankings were taken truly seriously.
Too many previous examples of favoritism and skirting their own rules.

Nothing but a propaganda piece to try to resurrect Clenelo's reputation. It is laughable that Friedman tries to claim no traces found in his hair follicle. The amount of clenbuterol found in his blood tests were levels considerably higher than those found in other athletes who were banned, like Morales. If clenbuterol was found in his blood then it would be found in the hair follicle. To suggest it was a false positive, which is what Friedman is doing, is ridiculous. And to say clenbuterol would be in the hair follicle years after exposure, again, is absurd. Hair grows and it doesn't take years for clenbuterol, especially at Canelo's length, to be completely out of the hair follicle. The harder they try to exonerate Clenelo the worse they look.

    Disgusting really.

Amazing what 1 person can do to a well respected organisation that has basically been the boxing bible for years.
