    Yes and no. He is supposed to be a ATG in the making, so A loss against Linares would hurt.

    He’s already defeated Rigondeaux, Russell, Walters, Sosa, so no I think he is well past hype job stage. However he is being compared on all time lists etc so a loss would hurt that significantly.

    Not a hype Job, but not High level ultra ATG status. if he beats linares and then garcia, hes ultra atg status.

    What's Mikey done to deserve such high scalp status?

    His resume sucks. When he didn't hold a massive weight/size advantage, he couldn't get guys out.

    Hes the goods, also hes bigger than Loma, loma will be beating a skilled bigger man, linares is a very skilled bigger man aswell so this will be a high level win, but he has losses, and garcia hasnt had any yet but i know what youre saying.

    also beating lipinets was a good win, zlaticcin is a good fighter and he destroyed him, broner a decent scalp and it was easy.

    I rate Linares but I think the timing of this fight might just be perfect for Loma despite the size difference

    Because Luke Campbell put up a very decent showing against Linares and Loma's skills are far enough above those of Campbell to negate the size differential, making that reference point valid....

    Lipinets was a complete nobody and looked bad in his previous fight.

    Zlaticanin beat Franklin Mamani (LOL) whose biggest scalp was an ultra shot Corley for a vacant belt. Also, Mikey looked 2 weight classes bigger than him.

    Mikey looked good in the first half of the fight and then started to fade. When Broner turned up the heat, he was hurting Mikey. This is Broner, the biggest name gatekeeper ever.
