Duhaupas’ best wins are Helenius and Charr. Takam’s best wins are an aging Michael Grant and Tony Thompson. He does have a draw with Perez. Both are known for being tough *******s who are brought in to lose. Not much difference really.
1. Joshua 2. Povetkin 3. Parker 4. Pulev 5. Whyte 6. Bellew 7. Takam 8. Wilder 9. Miller 10. Breazeale
I think the Thompson win for Takam is possibly better than the Helenius and Charr wins for Duhaupas. Thompson had just beaten Solis and the year before had beaten Price. Hard to say, maybe he caught Thompson at the right time. But Takam did better when he stepped up compared to Duhaupas and that's the big difference between them. He was out boxing Povetkin early before being ground down, while a more faded version of Povetkin easily beat Duhaupas. Takam gave Parker a tough fight too while in comparison, Duhaupas was easily beat by Miller and Wilder and also lost to Teper and Pianeta of all people. Takam would never lose to Pianeta not even on his worst day.
It's not about all fights they ever fought only, it's more so about recently, and to be honest a good performance or at least one where you make the opponent look bad, if they're AJ or Wilder... Is pretty much enough to maybe creep you in the top 10, the way the current landscape lays. What else you gonna go on? Throwing Miller and the like of him in is all well and good but he might be TKO2 by AJ or Wilder for all we know.
Just pointing out that they’re more likely top 20 guys than top 10. PS Takam lost to some scrub early in his career just like Johan lost to Pianeta.
Maybe, neither of them are top contenders and will always lose when they step up. You could make an argument for a lot of guys creeping into the last 2-3 spots in the top ten. Guys like Takam, Breazeale, Hughie Fury, Miller, Ruiz Jr etc. None have proved enough to deserve a definite position in the top 10 as either they have lost to the very top guys when stepping up or have never fought the top guys at all.
Oh god, Erm. 1 AJ 2 Povetkin 3 Wilder 4 Ortiz 5 Parker 6 Pulev 7 Miller 8 Ruiz Jr 9 Whyte 10 Kownacki Those last few are very much subject to change on my mood
Takam also arguably has a win over Parker . The skill sets between Takam and Duhaupas are obvious...ones a punching bag with limited skill and durable chin . The other is a very good all around solid fighter who was a top 10 guy. there's simply was never a reason to put Duhaupas as a top 10 fighter.
No era in boxing HW history had this amount of younger group including Olympic caliber , amateur pedigrees and overall the amount talent coming up like now bc it's a much wider global sport now... Wilder shows its a very strong era bc within 2 years this division will be more stacked than it is now! Fury, Joshua, Wilder, just those three in itself are keeping the division fresh...... Ortiz, Parker, Whyte , Povetkin are big wild cards ...to think it's a weak era is foolish, there's nothing weak about it! it is a good thing that the division is young bc it means we have years of interesting match ups coming. Hughie dumped his title fast for a reason. Had another less caliber fighter with more fights have Joyce's belt he would have fought him. i showed you Parkers own performance in most of his top fights made opponents look better , so again you can only place Hughie in a TOP 10 spot based off that fight. i could easily place Takam ahead of Hughie just on his Joshua fight. your obviously a Hughie fan but no bookie is going to have listed favored over anyone in my top 10 so no it is a fact i have him outside the ten for a reason. And actually I will probably have to put Fury in and change my list after he fights, and I won't need to think about why like anyone i include bc I can see what a fighter can do otherwise they wouldn't be on my list.
I don’t think anyone really thinks he beat Parker. He did worse than Ruiz and Hughie. I generally don’t rate guys who look tough taking clear loses. It’s like idolizing Tony Tucker for doing okay against Tyson.
I'm not talking about the years to come. I'm talking about now. Now is a period following one of the weakest eras in the division and is showing some promise for becoming strong again. But that's the extent of it. As such, it is still relatively weak for the time being. The second bunch of names you mentioned wouldn't be murmured in the same category as great fighters from other eras. Yes. Match-ups coming, in the years to come. We're talking about now though. What reason? He's moving on to better things? He's saying he wants Joshua and the lot now. Give it a chance and we'll see. He wasn't ready before, but his camp seems to be backing the idea that he is now. I don't see a problem. Yeah less calibre than Hughie Fury, but that's because those guys don't really need to be turning fights down. They make money by going round fighting whoever, and waiting for a big prospect to come around that spells a payday for them on Sky or BT or whatever else. Hughie is bigger than that, and I completely understand why they wouldn't take the route of a 4-0 fighter...who for some reason, deserves a place in your top 10, whilst Hughie Fury who made Parker look poor, does not because he hasn't fought enough decent level opponents by the way ... Ya couldn't write this sh**. Those fights were completely different, Parker wasn't going to lose them and he seems to be someone who rises his performance as the challenge does the same. The Hughie Fury fight was different and that was plain to see for anyone. He just couldn't land punches it really is that simple. It wasn't lack of motivation or anything else. He just couldn't land clean enough times to even win in my opinion. Again I'll challenge your placing of Joe Joyce, which is based off no fight, if we're going to go down that line of questioning. Takam is at 9 for me, two places behind Hughie, I'd have no qualms with you placing him above, although I'd disagree with it slightly. Maybe that's your mistake, you're just going based on records and who they've beat alone. See that's only part of it. You have to watch them box and judge based on HOW they do it too. Not just if they do it. By that, is how Hughie is > Takam, because you and I both know Takam offers being a tough nut who is hard to shake, and little else. The same if you're honest with yourself, cannot be said of Hughie Fury. A fact? No, it's your opinion. The bookies had Wlad Klitschko to beat Tyson Fury, Chris Eubank Jr to beat George Groves, but as far as I remember I was still running to the bank laughing that night after backing the winner by decision (they get a lot wrong). The bookmakers is a ridiculous way of backing your opinions up, you realise those odds come from casual fans etc lumping on basically, the better promoted fighter, whom they've never even seen fight? I'm not a Hughie fan actually, I'm neither here nor there about him, I just won't have you tell me you can't see how I include him when it's a more than logical inclusion in a top 10. Particularly if you're going to come with Joe Joyce and Jarell Miller in yours.
All your lists are wrong. Here's the correct one: 1. David Haye 2. David Price 3. Some other David 4. Ray Mercer 5. AJ cool J 6. Vacant 8. Prince Naseem Hamed 9. Vacant 10. Myself There you go.
