This content is protected About 8 minutes in hopkins catches his share of **** for being a spoiler and i'm not disagreeing but his distance control and timing to operate as he did technically and constantly catch guys when they're resetting... was this a lack of prep on opponents or was this unavoidable and what other examples can i watch of this? Also, I'm assuming the video comes through if it doesn't let me know.
Hopkins have great defense at least 8. Unlike roy jones he is more fundamental. Jones have more talent but hopkins more fundamental. Physical he is big too, tall & good reach. Maybe at middleweight he gave 9 score size
The man is about as skilled and knowledgeable as it gets. To have been that good at almost 50. He wasn't extraordinary in any physical category other than chin. His arm length was tiny for his heighy at 23 inches compared to Kovalev 25" for example. Master Boxer, sure he could be boring and dirty but all fighters start clinching and mauling when they get old. Even Holyfield did when he got old
Hopkins was an extraordinary fighter, real old school mad skillz. He would have fit right in back in the days of the Murders Row. One very complete fighter. I've seldon seen someone so hard to counter effectively.
I agree my friend was watching and said the same thing but hopkins still had the discipline to duck away and keep the right up to parry the left and counter with the right it's a testament to how good these guys really are to feel confident enough to do that to a world class fighter.
