He’s right, Brits won’t travel en masse for AJ in the same manner as Hatton’s fan. It’s a different type of fanbase.

Agree with cutthroat etc. Everyone wants to see Joshua but he doesn't have a hardcore following like hatton had. In terms of Brits going across...it won't be as big. In terms of if he was to lose...it also wont have the same affect on people as hatton losing had. Same with if he won. Hatton was like basically following your football team...whereas Joshua's a bit like watching a pretty good team playing in comparison...its not yours tho. People all want to watch them but if they we,re to lose...you won't cry yourself to sleep. Whereas Brits almost cry themselves to sleep when their football team loses.

People genuinely loved hatton...he was just like the majority of working class people in Britain. Whereas Joshua's a bit too millennial child for the majority...social media. Technology. Talking about wisdom etc. To really appeal to anyone older than about thirty overhere. He's liked don't get me wrong...hes not loved like hatton was tho.

AJ will take a solid following also your forgetting his strong Nigerian Fanbase-But Vegas and the Places nearby showing the fight if it happens in Vegas-Their will be thousands of Brits nearby. Think of AJ's Hardcore Fanbase as 100K in the UK, Immediately halve that to 50K as it will take place in Vegas. Then out of that 50K who will go to Vegas and who will decide to buy it on PPV. I suspect a strong 10K-15K will decide to go...I'm sure.

Yeah probably about the right amount I'd say mate. I,d go about ten thousand. Pretty sure hatton took something like 25 thousand tho.

A lot of them we,re hardcore as well...Not sure Joshua has that kind of following imo. Outside of London there's not many that buy into the billionaire chat. Stay humble. Hustling for money etc chat. The normal working man who makes up a lot of the guys that go out to Vegas don't really get it quite the same as they got hatton. Maybe I,m just speaking from my own perspective tho.

It all depends on what you mean by bigger. TV coverage in the UK would probably be bigger. In terms of Brits travelling over and drinking Vegas dry.....no chance. AJ fans may travel over and enjoy the ocasional cup of tea but Hatton had a unique fanbase in the UK of the like you will never see again. So in summary numbers yes, passion no.

Pretty simple to me. If you want to blow this up in America have them announce this fight at the NBA finals. Or fly them both in to sit courtside at the finals. Want to seep in America's mainstream, have them sitting opposite ends courtside. Be all over ESPN for the next month. NBA is how you get into America's mainstream psyche.

Joshua is really popular among celebrity's here in the U.K might even be the most popular right now. The likes of Dr Dre, The Rock, 50 Cent, expect all them type of names to help promote this fight by buying tickets.

I'd expect a lot of star studded names to be there, I see it being catered more for a celebrity social event than a boxing purist crowd. A lot like Floyd/PAC but not to the extreme levels they had.

How many buys it does? I have no idea but I know it will be a huge event by the time fight night comes around.

It's already a huge fight and the fight hasn't even been promoted yet. By the time Fight Night is among us, expect this to be one of the biggest sporting events of the past 10 years.

People forget that the fight hasn't even been promoted let alone announced. They are gonna promote the hell out of this fight and I expect it to be huge.

The biggest fight in World Boxing and it has yet to even start promoting.. let that sink in and then tell me this fight doesn't do huge numbers.

This fight is more important legacy wise and for the sport of boxing than the Mayweather-Hatton fight.
But it will not be bigger financially. Please don't compare Floyd with Wilder again. Wilder never hold a ppv.

It won’t be bigger than Klitschko vs Haye. And it won’t even happen because one will lose their title before then.

Yes, but their is a massive flaw with your plan. Joshua and Wilder are about as known to the American Sports Fans as Me. Imagine the Camera's go on Joshua and Wilder in the final and all the people their and milions watching at home will be like "who the fook are these guys"...

Blame AJ for that. He got offered the 50M he wanted and even Hearn said he'd prefer AJ to go to the US- but Joshua wants in the UK for no Logical, Buisness or Financial reasons

i may be bias as im from manchester but i still thank Hatton had the bigger fan base or maybe the more loyal/ fanatic
but i guess we'll only see that if Joshua ever travels

AJ has been better promoted and has the bigger gates but hatton sold out the etihad stadium fighting juan lazcano lol

i think his highest PPV is 1.5 mill where hattons was just over 1 mill for Mayweather (i think) however this was at 5 in the morning .. not prime time like AJ
i think they may be slightly similar but it'd be very interesting to compare if Joshua does fight in vegas

As someone who was at Hatton/Mayweather and had been to numerous Hatton fights, it was clear that most of the people that travelled to Vegas weren't die-hard Hatton fans. Most were casuals - you know the type - bald, fat, tattooed football fan types, who probably couldn't name more than 1 or 2 Hatton or Mayweather opponents. Joshua/Wilder will be no different and I can see it being comparable in terms of the numbers travelling.
