Nah. Jack Johnson was perhaps the most skilled heavyweight in boxing history. He looks like a bigger, more athletic and trickier version of Bernard Hopkins. He's very crafty. Wilder is more like that guy from Cinderella man. Not the subject of the movie, but the guy he fought at the end that was bangin all those females. I've been saying it for a long time. Wilder is the best. Only threat is Big Baby.
Not really....wilder was never KO'd in 3 rounds by a polish middleweight....who then taught him the style to be champ(being boring as hell and beating some of the biggest bums/shot over the hill fighters was just a added bonus The nostalgia hard on people have for these old time heavyweights is hilarious There's a reason guys like sharkey, choynski and welterweight Walcott were so successful against the supposed all time greats of this era....the big men were terrible....at least the lower weights have actual athlete types It was national news when a big man threw a punch back then(especially a supposed defensive minded fighter like johnson) and a telegram could be sent by the time the punch landed It just blows my mind that these old heads think that guys like johnson, Corbett, Jeffries(or any fighter until listons era) would have anything for a modern fighter like Joshua, vitali, wlad, fury...giant men who are highly skilled and or are world class athletes pushing the action for these guys meant a 25 round circling each other match
Totally agree, boxing wise he is very similar to Jack Johnson I personally think D. Wilder is a bit too skinny though to match up with him Not that it should matter, but with that kind of style it does
