yeah easy to say, i said the same thing before, but the reality is that the Canelo fight comes with a big fat 15 million dollar check. For a 36 year old boxer that is the only thing he should be chasing. Or he can fight D chenko for 1.5 million

If the judges didn’t rob him against Clenelo, I don’t think he’d bypass SD, but it was a draw and he gets another payday from it so he’s be stupid not to take it at the end of his career.

 

How many is these new Derevyanchenko fans have seen him fight? Not even one. How many know who his last opponent was? None. How many know his last opponent was 22-22? Exactly zero.

 

Whether anyone likes it or not, Canelo is STILL the linear MW champ. I know stuff like that doesn't mean much to fans. But we aren't the ones dedicating our lives to the sport, the fighters are. They have a limited window for money, opportunity and title shots.

 

I agree with you legacy wise. But that money doe. Plus, 15 million is not net 15 million, probably closer to 10 million after fees, taxes, expenses. GGG is self promoted (GGG promotions) so I know he keeps a bigger chunk. I just see him solidifying his bank account rather than his legacy

Yes, unless he REALLY believes that he could beat him worse.
GGG knows he beat him the first time. He started real slow too.
GGG best chance to beat Canelo is now as Canelo hasnt fought in a year while GGG got his tune up
And, Canelo had that knee operation. If Canelo takes the GGG fight with one year of inactivty, he has a serious chance of beating him even more one sided than the last fight. And, lets not forget that vada testing

 

With this level of cynicism and negativity towards the sport, why even bother watching?
