Great! It would have been such a letdown if we had Jr in the final instead of Groves. It would have undermined the whole tournament.
Thing is, he’s been saying it for ages. Eventually he will be right and he’ll then say I told you so. I remember debating with him over the Junior fight. Junior was going to decimate Groves. Groves was shot to pieces apparently, yet he had Junior in his pocket. I’ve never popped my shoulder, I don’t know if you can fully recover from it in terms of boxing at the highest level. Fact is though, the lads had an excellent career...his fights with Froch were superb. All the great fighters Froch fought and he harps on and on about Groves. That shows how much he rates him.
All this about Groves being shot is a myth. Like the he can't do 12 round, he has no chin He's a world class fighter and been in many of great fight. He'll beat smith imo then Degale. Probs move up and win a world title at LHW as well
I am glad Groves v Smith looks like being the Super Middleweight final , I am not sure how good Callum Smith is and equally as unsure of how far Groves is away from his peak ? So interesting fight and one I will not be betting on. Stylistically he could be a real snooze fest. I sure Smith will try and keep it long and grind out points win and not get caught with one of Groves bombs.Whoever wins should have a lucrative easy night with Degale.
