I did think of that win and Tiger was great, but moving up he was conceding a helluva lot of height and reach to Foster.

No I think both Vitali and his brother carried themselves with dignity in the ring and outside it. I have a lot of respect for him and what he is trying to do in his country.I just don't pretend he has a signature win because he doesn't and therefore no debate is necessary, especially with a biased fan boy!

The Galaxy brothers, though at least Khaokor had Wilfredo Vasquez.

I just told you why Peter was a signature win, few in history could have done that. If you can show me a guy in late 30's who took 4 years off, and came back with no warm-up fight to take his belt back in dominating fashion, I do not know his name.

    And neither do you.

We do agree, Vitlai is a true hero outside the ring and his brother an excellent ambassador to boxing.

no he didn't . his most defining fight was the Hearns fight. It ruined his legacy a little.

he kind of was. His amount of title defenses was good, and he beat decent guys Stewart, Czyz, Tate, Maske, 25 title defenses. 3 reigns as champion. Rather impressive. Not a big punch so his fights didn't get much notice, but he could outbox anyone.

I picked him to beat Peter and it was a remarkable achievement, considering his age and inactivity but Peter was never more than a slow clubber who lacked defence, footwork and versatility. Not of good enough quality to make him a signature defence. If you doubt this ask the forum!

Too many soft defences, and too many names missing for me to call him great but we all have differing criterias for the word and I accept that.

Well maybe so, but 24 title defenses is pretty good. I wouldn't say that is not exceptional. I think his style of boxing was rather boring and that hurts him.

Good pick. A lot of Old timers point that one out.
