Yeah I know, I've got the details of this in Graeme Kent's," The White Hope Era".I didn't mention it because I thought Suzie would say I was making excuses. Willard kod Rodel in both subsequent fights.

You can disagree but the proof is in the pudding. Willard allowed 175-190lb men to outbox him in his prime.

Are you really comparing Willard to vitali? Vitali was a far greater fighter in every area.

Wills could stop Willard inside the distance I have no doubt..but even if he doesn’t, How’s Willard going to win any rounds against wills? Nat Fleischer describes wills as a very clever boxer. Willard certainly isn’t going to outbox him.

I can't envision Wills beating the Willard of Havana. Just can't. Most any other night, I certainly can and would

I think I am right in saying that Willard was a last minute sub for this fight.

When Willard was in his prime, and had undergone a full training camp i.e Johnson or Moran, he was a significant obstacle to overcome.

Yes I am absolutely comparing him to Vitally.

Jan and Mcvey showing some fantastic knowledge of the era here. I still like Wills in a competitive decision, Wills sweeping most of the earlier rounds and Willard coming on strong a little later. I don't think it's justifiable to make Willard favorurite, but what would be comical is counting him out entirely.

So Willard lost in his prime 3 times to 175-190lb men, two of which were tomato cans, but he’s competitive with an ATG 6’2 210lb fighter? Wills is typically rated by most experts a top 20 heavyweight of all time. Willard doesn’t crack most top 50 lists.

Style wise...the only thing anyone has come up with is Willard’s size and stamina ...which won’t come into play because it’s only a 15 round fight, and Wills is a big man himself and showed he can EASILY-beat a man of Willard’s height, reach and ability in Fulton. Wills has a huge advantage in ring iq, defense, skills, athleticism, and offensive arsenal. Willard never beat anyone as good as a prime Harry Wills unless you count a very fat 37 year old Johnson, who still easily outpoints Willard if that’s 15 rounds. And I’d still favor a peak harry wills to slaughter that version of Johnson.

No Jan and Mcvey are huge Dempsey and Johnson fans, and pumping up Willard makes Dempsey’s win look better and Johnson’s loss not so bad....while promoting Wills makes Dempsey look worse.

Johnson was a very fat 37 year old man who whipped Willard’s butt over 15 rounds

Moran, a B level fighter. Wills was a great fighter. No comparison

Or do you have more excuses for Willard losing in his prime to a 24-21 175lb tomato can?

Every thing you said bull****. With each Wills post you sound more and more like a petulant out of control kid throwing a fit because others don't agree with you. You make **** up to fit yr narrative; Wills commonly top20 :) :) :) :) Even Wills would laugh at that. Your hysterical manner has undermined yr whole arguement. Settle down. Take one of "mother's little helpers" and relax. When yr stable, return to posting.

I'd tentatively expect Wills to take this fairly easily, unless for some reason he's really bad at getting inside. Wills probably wasn't slow as some have claimed, but I doubt he can outslug or manhandle Willard. I guess a lot of this hinges on how well Wills moved.
I'd have to see a lot more of both to be really confident.

Most of the knowledgeable posters here rate wills top 20 heavyweight of all time. I stand by that.

    Take a look here

    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...to-be-ranked-higher-than-jack-dempsey.608640/

Some of the forums best posters said wills has a case. Of course you’re only reply was the childish “stupid”

But we know you’re immature. You called Gerry Cooney a bum in another thread
