Good stoppage. Terence wore him down in 9 rounds. The ref did his job and saved Jeff when he could no longer protect himself.

Agree it was a good stoppage. Horn didn't have to endure any unnecessary punishment & will be all the better for it in future fights.

Normally a stoppage loss sets a fighter back a long way and can take several fights to recover from (that's if the fighter recovers at all).

I don't see Horn suffering any ill-effects from that stoppage which you can largely thank the referee for.

I think it was a good stoppage for Horn. He was not going to win. Another fighter maybe not. I just don't understand the Horn camp at all. He goes right after a top p4p fighter right away. He should be fighting guys in the top 10-20 in welterweight.

Horn did the right thing taking the fight. If you get the opportunity to face the American P4P #1 in the fight capital of the world for a couple of million Australian dollars, you take it.

Horn is a guy no-one in Australia had even heard of before the Pacquiao fight. Most of his key development fights were in New Zealand funded by Duco Events.

He's had the opportunity to fight a legend in his hometown in front of 50,000, defend the title & then travel to the fight capital of the world to take on America's P4P best on the world stage. Not bad for a guy not even Australian fans had heard of prior to Pacquiao.

Besides that, Crawford was his mandatory. Horn had to face him.

Horn can rebuild by fighting those other guys you mentioned (i.e. top 10-20 welters). I reckon Jessie Vargas in Australia is a likely fight for him if he stays at welter.

It was certainly an early stoppage even though Horn had no chance to beat Crawford in this fight. Was Horn badly hurt in round 9? Nah......

It would be a decent fight for him & is probably realistic to aim for.

I think it would be in the US though after Horn has knocked up a win or two in Australia.
