I expect this to be a replay of Lewis vs. Grant.

Wilder hasn't got the chin to beat Joshua, of course against Wilder there is always a danger of his right hand but I predict an early KO for Joshua, however if it goes past 7 rounds, I feel Wilders superior gas tank would increase his chances of a KO substantially

Couldnt care less who wins, yet I see this as a very difficult fight for Wilder and struggle to see how he will get past the early rounds. In terms of level of competition, AJ all day; boxing skills, AJ all day; defense, AJ all day; ring generalship, AJ all day; power, even.

Someone once said to me, look at the Klitchsko fight, Wilder will knock AJ out. If only that person opened their eyes and knew just how good the boxing skills and power of the Klitchskos really were. I've only ever seen Wilder fight one guy with AJ's height, Washington, he struggled with his height even though Washington is several levels below AJ, and only ever seen him fight one guy with the skills on AJ's level, Ortiz, to whom he lost the majority of rounds. Considering Wilder is going to be fighting AJ with those skills, that height and reach, and that AJ power he has never experienced before, it's going to be a very tough night for Wilder and he will need an early knockout to have any chance of victory, otherwise, he will be steamrolled by Joshua. Whoever wins, it will be an entertaining 3-4 rounds while it lasts.

We've seen Wilder get wobbled by Molina and struggle with Szpilka and Washington. These guys are all B- level fighters. The only good fighter he faced was Ortiz, with whom he struggled with mightily before KO'ing him. AJ is on a completely different level. Only path to victory for Wilder is a KO.

just looked on boxrec rec and there is very little in it actually

I think wilders skinny frame had me thinking he was much taller with a longer reach

    wilder 6'7--- 83" reach
    AJ 6'6 --- "82 reach

Maybe. Except Joshua isn't Lennox Lewis and Wilder isn't Grant lol.

AJ will box, he isn't having a shoot out, why would he? Joshua is technically superior to Wilder so he will box/fight to his strengths.

A lot will depend on how Wilder approaches the fight, if he comes out cautiously then it's an easy night for AJ, AJ will pick him off, jab his way through the first rounds and look for a right hand and he won't force it.

But if Wilder comes out of that corner confident, aggressive and punching then AJ is in for a rough and tough night.

I'm going with Joshua regardless of what type of Wilder turns up but it's going to be up to Wilder if it's an easy night or tough night for AJ.

Ortiz's head is a magnet for right hands, and this isn't the 38 year old Ortiz sans his PEDs who had never fought anyone who could ever be remotely described as a puncher in the pros, unless that is you think Malik ''87-82'' Scott, a 45 year old way past it Tony Thompson, and Bryant Jennings are punchers?

Ortiz's magnet is not quite as magnetic as Jeff Horn magnet which is literally a magnet for every shot you throw, but Povernov couldn't miss with it as soon as he realized Ortiz had zero defence for it lol.

Why come PEDs turn some fighters into power puncher super killer monsters but not Ortiz who for some strange reason is deemed exactly the same force he was after his second bust than he was when he was before it and when he was in his prime?

At some point in this fight Wilder is going to land a bomb and what happens after that is anyone’s guess.

Wilders resolve impressed me against Ortiz, something I didn’t think he had in him. I’m leaning slightly towards Wilder at this point.

Wilders punch output is too low to take anyone into deep waters anyway.

IMHO Anthony Joshua is the best heavyweight in the world right now and will stop Deontay in about round 7.
