Brits fanned the flame and they'll be the only ones tossing logs on the fire to keep it going.

2 weight world champion, legitimate top quality fighter who would rather waste his talent and prime to be a Z list Brit celeb as opposed to being the best he could be as a fighter.

Good legacy if we,re being fair. People go on about who he beat...but you,ve got to look at how he beat them. He battered a lot of pretty decent names.

Could have done more but considering his injuries what can you do.

His heavyweight run was actually a big achievement regardless of what people say. Its a very hard thing to do translating cruiser success into heavyweight success. A move that people underestimate massively. Barrett, ruiz , chisora, we,re all solid experienced natural heavyweights. People chuck their names out there saying he only beat this guy or that guy. But tbf he pretty much battered them.

Haye was a quality fighter....I,d say boxing didn't,t come naturally to him. His freakish power and speed made up for any shortgivings tho and he ended up relying on it a bit too much. I think they all underestimated how big of a jump it was from a cruiserweight to klitchko. He fell short. Outside of that he battered pretty much everyone else bar a few.

Only in this day and age could a guy go to France crumble momeck in 7 rounds. And then have no legacy to speak of. He cashed out to move to heavyweight. Its a tough move. Still say hes one of the best cruisers to move to heavy.

Great fighter...pretty good legacy. Simple as that really. Barring the comeback of course. Not really fair to judge him on that tbf.

I sure am no fan boy of Haye, however Haye was unified Cruiserweight Champion and WBA Heavyweight Champion, so that acheivement is his legacy in the annals of boxing history, most boxers would be happy having that on their CV.
The rest of Hayes failings and nonsense are of no importance to me.

Not much of one IMO. His tenure at CW has been nothing that many other CW's haven't done already. If I had to rate Haye, top 15 at CW, no rating at HW.

Best British cruiserweight, best con man Britain’s had in the ring too.
