Haye vs Valuev, not that anyone in their right mind should even entertain the idea of rewatching that fight.
Ruiz - Oquendo was hard to score. You could give any round to any of the 2, or score 10-10. It was painful to watch, beyond boring. Referee was bored too and when Ruiz finally landed good punch that rocked Fres he suddenly interrupted and stopped the fight. BS stoppage but at least we had some action when Fres protested the stoppage.
Lewis - Mercer was hard to score. There were few clear rounds and few very close rounds that could've gone either way. Great fight BTW
Very true on both counts. I had it to Lewis by 2 rounds at the end which I was pleased with because my overall impression was that Lewis deserved the win but there were a lot of close rounds and I can see how it could have been scored a draw. And there were plenty who thought Mercer won. The judges got it right though, I think. It was an excellent performance by Lewis against a Ray Mercer who was at the top of his game that night.
I remember watching that at the time and feeling it could easily have been a draw. I didn't think Lewis fought particularly well in that one but he probably edged it.
For sure dude and I'm a huge Lennox fan, Holyfield decided to fight for more than 30 seconds a round unlike the first fight.
I thought Cervantes - Benitez was a tough one. It came down to what you are looking for in a fight. I like clean punching, but do you prefer speedy taps or less volume but with more oomph behind it? I had it 145-143 (7-5-3) for Benitez, but I had to stay focused for the full 15 rounds to follow the flow of the fight. I thought it was that tight.
