The most overrated fight ever. Almost devoid of action. Nothing the first 5 rds. A little excitement in 6&7. Boring again until 13 & 14. If not for the name fighters, forgotten forever. No where near Leonard-DURAN, GOMEZ-PINTOR, LIMON-CHACON 4, Pryor-Arguello. Saad-Lopez, SANCHEZ-Nelson, Fletcher vs. Anyone, etc

Love the fight, ebbs and flow, role reversals, the drama of a come from behind stoppage. Super super high level of skill on display too. We've got two top 10 ATG welters with vastly contrasting styles having to dig deep.

I'd take it over any amount of Frank Fletcher fights as exciting as they were.

The closed circuit interest for the fight was massive, with the fans divided down the middle who would win.
Even some brawling going on out in the stands at some locations.

Take the famous names away and the skill and danger levels would diminish immensely. It would not be the same fight. We had two of the greatest welters ever in there, guys that could potentially turn a mistake into a loss in the blink of an eye.

A great fight need not be all about action.

I sort of get where you're coming from - in terms of pure action it probably doesn't match the fights you mentioned but the skill level, shifts in momentum and yes, the quality of the fighters more than makes up for it.

I think it's sometimes rated a little higher than it should be because of who the fighters were but that's because it was a historically significant fight. I think it lived up to the hype, which is all you can ask for in a super fight.

To each their own i guess. I am a fan of boxing and all it encompasses whether it be slugger vs slugger, boxer vs boxer or anything in between. I love a good brawl but don't mind watching mad skill at play either.

Great match for sure. The build up, the expectation, the unknowns - mouth watering! Then we had that see saw battle that was intriguing all the way to the finish. Historical and a credit to both competitors.

I wish de la Hoya Trinidad or Pacquiao Mayweather had even half the drama the leonard hearns fight had....I lived through some 147 super fight duds
