If GGG won the first fight on the cards would you have wanted to see a rematch?

Not really and I'm not all that excited about the rematch tbh.

    Sure
The fight was tough and had it been given to GGG I would of liked for him to grab the belt from BJS and circle back to Big Red

Yes, because both didn't look impressive and both didn't deserve to win.

This is why Triple loses in the rematch. When you award a child for mediocrity, it makes that child believe that said mediocrity is good enough.

Golovkin did not land 210 punches to Canelo’s head. We all know this. This is how you stunt someone’s growth. Also he supposedly landed equal amount of power punches. Where are the highlights? They don’t exist because it didn’t happen.

Why was Golovkin’s face more damaged and swollen than Canelo’s? Because Canelo landed more clean punches throughout the fight. We all saw this. You guys are trying to make a warped case reality and it’s pathetic.

Compubox and biased commentary are Golovkin’s best case. These are things that simply did not occur in reality and it’s just setting him up for failure.

I think the hardest part of judging in real time is the inability to break the rounds down into segments like we can do on here post fight. But I think to some extent you have to keep a mental track of what happened in each minute when you make a decision.

I think more than that, Byrd just noticed and gave Canelo credit for the big punches he landed, even if he was slightly getting outworked. I mean lets be real, if you land a big uppercut like Canelo landed in round 6 and 8, that should offset several range finding light jabs or right hands that don't land cleanly.

Which 8 rounds were the definitive GGG rounds?

Is this where you go through frame by frame and claim something contrary to what most people saw? This is even more impressive than Pac fans slowmo upside down scoring of the Mayweather fight.

So in answer to the question in which I asked in the OP - if the fight had been scored in favor of Golovkin as most observers thought it should then you think it would of been a poor decision and a rematch required?

Honestly, I would not have really wanted to see a rematch. The fight was decent enough that I would gladly watch a rematch, but there are great fights to be made around the division.

I'd love to see Jacobs get a crack at one of the two, for example.

No...it's where I ask you what 8 rounds you felt were definitive GGG rounds. If you are saying the most someone could give Canelo is 4 rounds, then I would assume you have 8 rounds identified as GGG rounds. So again I'll ask which 8 are the rounds that are definitive GGG rounds?

It was a fight in which neither fighter distanced themselves in any significant way from the other...it was a textbook example of what a draw would look like. If pressed it's obvious who landed the most meaningful significant work...not that it matters because it was a draw as it should have been. If either guy would have been awarded the decision it would have commanded a rematch.

I am honestly rooting for Canelo.. He is a good counterpuncher, and if GGG comes out more aggressive that will give Canelo more openings. I mean if GGG comes out swinging who knows what will happen. When Hagler came out swinging at Hearns it was a great thing since at that point we didn't know what would happen. I don't think GGG would do what Hagler did, and I don't think Canelo will answer back how Hearns did. Wouldn't another 3 round war like Hagler vs. Hearns be something special. I doubt it will happen again at the top level. You need two guys who are willing to put it on the line like that.
