    One year layoff

Is he supposed to fight Charlo for 4 million and not clenelo for 40?

Come on, now. Don’t be ignorant.

Stop trying to justify him ducking and fighting vanes!! It was disgusting. Also I get him fighting Canelo over Charlo just not sure why he picked Vanes over Charlo are the IBF mando

That's a terrible thing to say dude. We should ALL want a boxer who wants to unify all belts. I know you are old enough to know that undisputed and unified was something to strive for not too long ago. Personally. i'd rather a boxer unify and defend then title hop divisions.

I'm sure I know why he picked Vanes. JrMW, inactive 2 years, B level fighter, no defense = no threat

What’s the point of caring about unification bouts when promoters/boxers just stall and ruin it. Examples being Kov vs Stevenson, Floyd vs the welter division, 154 when Lara held a majority of the belts. AJ vs Wilder these are all fights that should/should have been made easy but instead they where dragged on negotiations or they didn’t happen so we never got any unified champ.

I hear ya. The system is shoddy as all get out. But I will never fault a fighter who's intentions are to unify the division, no matter how crappy the ABC's are. At the very least, 3G fought with enough activity, 3 fights a years for a good part, to satisfy the mandatory. Too many think twice a year is all they need, with only one of those being a fight versus a top guy. No wonder we have very few boxing stars

Gennady is of the Old School like me. When I was a kid the World Heavyweight Champion was the supreme athlete everyone knew his name. Today only hard core fans know we have several pretenders claiming to be.
A wkile ago I bet a guy at the gym $50 that if we went out in the street & asked 50 people who the HW champ was no more than 5 would know.Easiest $50 I ever earned. Only name they seemed to know was Mike Tyson. No one cares any more. Corruption strangled the sport

Why fight SD when you know the Clenelo fight is likely to happen? Come on. SD on short notice is a dangerous fight that could have ruined his Clenelo payday.

It was akin to a stay busy fight. I mean, hell, you have to take the circumstances in to consideration here.

Not to mention, Jermall fought on 04/21. Was he going to turn around and fight again in two weeks? C'mon man....keep it real. If you are just trying to hate on 3G, try to use something substantial. Jesus...

You could ask the same 50 people who the unified top ranked middleweight is and they would have no idea either.

I'd rather somebody fought the #2 ranked guy in the division with no belts on the line than fight the #9 ranked guy in the division for a "vacant WBO belt."

Hands down. It's not even a debate. And if it is, then you are the problem.
