Tony Yoka vs. David Allen & Souleymane Diop Cissokho vs. Carlos Amado Molina RBR.

French Twitter has been hilarious in the run up to this Yoka/Allen fight.

Some French guy uploaded a photo from the stare off at the weigh in featuring a rather rotund Dave Allen in Pokemon shorts. When you translate the caption it says this:

"Meat, scattered beard and boxer Pikachu.

Tony Yoka is going to confront David Lafarge Pokemon for his next fight."

Superb haha. Some of the comments under it when translated included:

"David Allen The appearances and fantasies on Twitter is by far the toughest opponent of Yoka's career, he has faced Luis Ortiz in particular. After yes physically it is not sharpened; a real showman this David Allen!"

"Only drunks.. He is two fingers away from proposing the trifle to Depardieu"

"But it's ridiculous is it a real boxer?"

"The guy's got cellulite on his gut, it's getting grotesque."

Ruthless are the French! Ruthless I say!! Poor Dave Allen!

 

I am going to really enjoy watching Homer Simpson get beaten around the ring to a pulp and having to be pulled out of the fight by the referee as a mercy stoppage.

Dave Allen just isnt very good, and in this fight he is being fed to a wolf in the lions den.

 

What's the significance of the LaFarge part? That's my family's name (on my mom's side). Is there a particular reference there or just a random name thrown into the joke?

 

Their webmaster isn't exactly a go-getter, is he? On the splash page they still have up the live stream embed for Tony Yoka vs. Cyril Leonet from April 7th.

I was hoping for at least a placeholder image saying when coverage of today's card might start.

 

Dave Allen =Homer Simpson lol?

Agree though seems Allen lacks the offensive arsenal to do the needed damage. Allen has decent ring iq from the world class sparring but even Malik Scott did more damage to Luis Ortiz (at least landed a sneaky uppercut)

 

Dave Allen is a naive young lad. He's a tragic case to be honest and I worry he'll get seriously hurt if he keeps taking fights he cannot win.

 

I'm French and many of my compatriots want to see Yoka lose.

 

Can anyone actually see what’s happening with this fight card at the moment?? I saw on Carlos Molina’s FB page that his hands were wrapped over 10 minutes ago...

 

I have no idea! That's just what comes up when you click 'translate tweet'. I assumed it was referencing his rather large size but maybe not!

 

Nope, it's a real, albeit obscure name - the most famous holders of which (and I'm not 100% sure if my maternal grandfather was related to either of them, but probably at least distantly) were both from the Victorian era, one a moderately successful painter and the other a convicted murderess.
