At the time it seemed stupid to think, but in fulll hindsight maybe that was the first hint that Haye knew he was really done.

Yes he knew he was totally done as he had suffered career ending injuries - the reason he retired.

He only came back when he saw the PPV loot and his plan was to fight 2-3 puddings before fleecing the PPV mugs v Tony Dosh.

Toe and Eh Day discussed the PPV fight with Bellew, the scripted acting plan was hatched then acted out in Liverpool including the sponge bob gag.

Toe hit the jackpot with 2 PPV bags of loot and he did not even have to face Tony Dosh.

Toe last seen sailing off into the sunset on a Yacht - glass of champagne in one hand with coq in the other hand while toasting/laughing at all those Sky Box Office mugs

Haye deserves credit for physically being able to do a ring walk. His list of injuries over the last 6 years really is bionic man stuff. There's every chance the roided to the gills Briggs beats the 37 year-old, crippled version of David Haye we saw in his last two outings. Tony Bellew constantly gloating about his wins over Haye really is sickening. The modern day version of Berbick vs Ali.

Haye got what he wanted - two big checks from sbo when he knew he was shot to bits. He paid Di Mori and Gjarbaj chocolate buttons. Briggs wanted a fair purse which ruled him out.

It is obvious now that Haye wanted no part whatsoever of Shannon Briggs. I genuinely think that he was confident of knocking out Bellew first time around and then cashing out with a mega money bout with Joshua.

I thought at the time it was a duck and still do. I fancied Briggs to knock him out early.

    I dont think so

because Haye at the time was arrogant enough to think he could beat anyone.

He thought he would beat bellew easily and get a title shot eventually

he still thought he could beat bellew in the second fight, i think it was only after these two fights that it finally sunk into his ego he just doesnt have it anymore.

    Jeez people have a word.

Haye would fight his Nan for ppv money.

He didn't duck Briggs.....no credible channel would touch the fight or put up the money that's the reason.

Amazing all these cripple Haye stories from the same people that said Haye would do Bellew in 2 rounds 3 years out the ring or not.

If anyone had listened to the david price interview on sky sports news saying bellew fancied the Haye fight years ago.

I dont remember briggs last fight. Was it the one on hayes undercard? He was trying to talk his way into a big fight but it never came off. Saying that i would love fury v briggs on the Frampton undercard.

Just the talk before the fight would be good and it would be a step up from the opponent before .

No, your first assumption was most likely correct. It's still stupid to think.
