Sadly for Canelo, GGG lost all respect for Canelo long ago, career ending Curtis Stevens like sadistic Reservoir Dogs-esque torture session incoming.

I fail to see how Canelo can beat GGG while he's got 5 reverse gears and 1 forward gear. And the forward gear is only in case he gets spun and GGG ends up behind him.

I think most people have lost so much respect for Canelo that they dont care that he has lost respect for Golovkin or anybody else. Drug cheating weight bully. Should be banned another 18 months yet.

Golovkin had plenty of respect for Canelo before the 1st fight, whats happened between then and now? Canelo promised to fight like the Mexican he is and didnt, he then got popped for drugs cheating and is currently banned from the sport. I think there is the equation.

Clean fighter = Golovkin respect. Dirty drugs cheat = No respect from Golovkin. But thats Canelo for you, banned from the sport for popping dirty and demanding respect for it.

    Trolling or wishful thinking.

You realize Golovkin landed a whole two solid punches in the first fight, right?

As the boxer, Canelo has GGG figured out. While there are exceptions, and GGG does have a punchers chance, it is common knowledge the boxer usually does better in the rematch.

Come Sept. 15 we get to hear how Golovkin is so sold, how Canelo is so juiced, and who knows what other excuses are going to be thrown around.

Maybe you become a Canelo fight on Sept. 15.

No doubt Canelo threw his punches with intention. Golovkin was a jabber. Made a great impression of Felix Sturm.

I hate to break it to you, but Canelo never "promised to fight like the Mexican he is". This is a ploy by the Triple G team to try and get Canelo to not use his skills and advantages so G has a better chance of winning. There's so such thing as a standard Mexican style that every Mexican is supposed to fight like. We've seen Erik Morales fight off the backfoot, he's Mexican, he was never criticized for not fighting in the supposed "stand in front of your opponent and trade all night" "don't use high level footwork to control the range" "Mexican style".

Canelo got popped for a banned substance, which was very likely due to meat contamination, not for drugs "cheating". He's not banned from the sport. He is only suspended in Nevada and for a very short period of time, which was not due to a ruling but due to an agreement between his team and the NSAC to serve a 6 month suspension after the May fight was cancelled (which was really more like 4 months since two months had passed from when the suspension started from when it was issued).

As far as positive drug tests go, trace amounts of clenbuterol is a very minor issue since there's a very well known meat contamination problem in Mexico that causes athletes in Mexico to routinely test positive for it after eating meat. The important thing is that Canelo was being randomly tested several months prior to a fight, which shows that he's gone above and beyond the call of duty to prove he's clean, and testing positive for trace amounts of clenbuterol doesn't prove he's not clean or a drugs "cheat". If you get a kick out of calling him a cheat, that's your issue. Reasonable fans realize what the most likely reason for the positive test was, which was meat contamination. It's a non-issue at this point to pretty much anyone other than hardcore GGG fans. Calling Canelo a drugs cheat due to trace amounts of clenbuterol is really a tell-tale sign of insecurity.

“I'm ready to go! The talking has been done, we have weighed-in and now it is about getting in the ring and fighting. I'm ready to show how a true Mexican fights,” said Canelo.

“I am going to give the fans a special fight - a real fight. I am ready for him and whatever he comes with. If he wants to stand toe-to-toe I will not back down. However he wants to fight I am ready.

I see those quotes, that he supposedly gave in a BoxNation interview. I personally haven't seen the video of him giving that interview and saying that. I found a video of Canelo giving a BoxNation interview after the weigh-in, and he didn't say anything like that.

Can you link us to the video of him saying that?

With the languate barrier, if we don't have a video of a quote, we can't just assume he says something because he's quoted as saying something in an article. He's been mistranslated before.

If he did in fact say that exact quote, that's still not promising to fight in a standard Mexican style. The fact is he did stand toe-to-toe with GGG for large portions of the fight. But show us the video of Canelo saying all that. Lets establish what he actually said first, not just a quote in an article that was attributed to him.

Canelo's issue isn't a loss of respect for GGG, it's the loss of self-respect which led him to take PEDs.... or as they say in Mexico(w)..... 'eat tainted meat'
