Bellew vs Fury

On what basis can you say Vlad was unmotivated ? Only person Vlad has boxed whilst in his 40s was Joshua.

 

Look fella. Wlads issues pre fight with his bi polar wife and her post natal depression were well known. The performance he put in against Bryant Jennings was the worst of his second career just 7 months before the fight.

Tyson Fury turned signed to fight the rematch twice and pulled out twice over fear of being knocked out. He lost 12 million pounds each time.

 

Looking at Fury on instagram he's already in visably better shape than he was for his comeback fight.

He WAS pretty **** in that fight but lets not get carried away he wouldn't have to improve too much from that to beat Bellew. He drops another stone and takes the fight a bit more serious and he's got it in the bag.

A one legged David Haye is one thing but hows Bellew going do dealing with a 6'9" 270lb man when it gets up close and personal.

Not too well imo.

Incorrect. Furys footwork was too good for him plus he had a much better boxing IQ, footwork and a reach advantage. Fury kept mixing it up and clearly confused Vlad.

 

Exactly and when he did in the 12th round he landed and Tyson Fury looked shaken...

The thing that confused me about Wlad in that fight was that he waited until the 12th round to actually let his hands go, because when he did he was clearly getting the better of fury.

I don't belive that Fury seriously hurt him at any point, it was pitter pat stuff throughout.

I think Wlad either honestly thought he was winning or that he'd get a gift decision.

It's blown out of proportion how wide that fight was, neither guy was impressive.

whenever he gets at all hit he looks shakey and hurt, thats why he just runs round the ring, he couldnt take a combination from aj or wilders right hook

 

Both were tired and Klit could get close for 1st time. Klit looked like gettimg stopped in the 11th round till ref bailed him out.

 

Was that the round when fury cheap shotted him when wlad was talking to the ref?

And no he didnt look like getting stopped, he was mildly buzzed but thats about it.

 

No it was the round were Klit turned his back when the fight had not been stopped and when he was break dancing ref stopped action.

 

Totally agree with this. I think it’s a shame when people discredit that win and somehow make out it was an off night for Klitschko and it was a much better version of him against AJ. Not sure how that happens with age and ring inactivity.

Styles make fights. Fury is a very awkward, unorthodox fighter and he was facing someone who never let his hands go unless he was absolutely sure he would land his shots.

That was only AJ’s 19th pro fight. No doubt he would have been nervous and he made mistakes which presented Klitschko with opportunities. Since then, AJ to his credit has improved in all departments.

 

Fury needs at least 2 or 3 more fights before he faces any kind of legitimate contender. I wish he'd stop the ****-talking selfie vids, he isn't ready to cash any of the cheques his mouth's writing.

Even when he is ready or as close to ready as he can be, he should probably avoid a lower weight fighter like Bellew. Haye might still be in contention for a shot at Joshua if he hadn't chosen to fight someone with the speed to exploit his slowed reflexes. Perhaps a bad example as Haye had a combination of degraded facets but the difference in speed is essentially what cost him.

Maybe it's just paranoia but I can't help but think of all of the fighters who'd aclimatised to heavyweight only to misguidedly drop down in weight thinking smaller fighters would offer less resistance. I remember Shaun George tearing up Chris Byrd's resurrection as cruiser after he'd lost to Povetkin. Eddie Chambers demise at the hands of Thabiso Mchunu. Mormeck being retired by Masternak after his short stint at heavy. Jones dropping back to light-heavy and getting blitzed by Tarver.

Admittedly, those were all smaller heavyweights and the men in question had to make a lower weight but the correlation comes with those fighters being at the tail end of their career and thinking that smaller men would provide an edge needed to extend their career after a setback. Not so, speed trumps size.

After Fury's shed some more rust, and by the look of him in the Sefiri fight, a lot more weight, he should take on someone big, lumbering and rated. In other words, not Bellew, at any stage.
