Was shattered by Dustin Nichols and Harold Sconiers. Imagine if Wilder faces Joshua who hits a lot harder, he would shatter Wilders fragile mandible into million pieces.
of course. Nichols first showed the fragile whiskers Wilder is packing, Sconiers confirmed it. Joshua will surely shatter that fragile mandible
Quite correct Thecheckjab. Glad to see there are some sensible posters here. Wilder will be put to sleep should he ever find the courage to step in the ring with Joshua.
Im hoping AJ smashes Wilder to bits, but I don't agree that Deontay has a fragile chin; in this division anyone can be rocked or hurt by a clean shot - although it would definitely make for an interesting fight, his power could also cause just as many problems
Possible but unlikely. We all know Wilder, according to his fans, now has adopted this cagey, cautious style, where he's willing to give up rounds, to wait for right time to land a big punch. That will give Joshua opportunities to get to him first. But don't take my word for it, lets look at the facts. Wilder took 4 rounds to stop Jason Gavern, Joshua stopped him in 3 far more conclusively. Wilder took 12 rounds to beat Stiverne the 1st time when Demetrice King stopped him in 4. Wilder took 9 rounds to stop Molina, took Joshua 3 rounds and Arreola 1 round. Wilder took 11 rounds to stop Duhaupas but Povetkin stopped him in 6 rounds. Wilder took 9 rounds to stop Szpilka but Kownacki stopped him in 4 rounds. Wilder took 8 rounds to stop Arreola but Stiverne stopped him in 6. Wilder's title fights averaged 8.1 rounds, Joshua title fights averaged less with 7.5 rounds, despite him facing far stiffer opposition. Wilder has been hurt or hit cleanly first in numerous fights before he finished his opponent. Nicols had him down, so did Sconiers, Molina hurt him too before Wilder could finish him, Duhaupas lacked the power to hurt Wilder but he too was able to land good shots on Wilder before Wilder could finish him. Szpilka too lacked the power to hurt Wilder but as early as the first round he caught Wilder with a right hand that had him off balance. Joshua in comparison has been only hurt by 2 opponents. Whyte and Wlad and fact his he had both badly hurt before he got hurt himself in return. He was going in for the KO vs Whyte after having him hurt and had dropped Wlad and had him reeling a bit before he got caught with a left hook in the 5th which hurt him. So in both cases he got to his opponent first. So it's far more likely Joshua will be the one to press first and the one to hurt Wilder and even KO him before Wilder lands any telling shots of his own and if that's the case the chances of Wilder surviving to land his own hard shots are slim.
To be fair to Hybrid he did well to survive against old man Ortiz. He showed an ok chin plus good savvy to hold and spoil. And he faced the hammer of Thor which is Nichol's check jab but still lived to tell the tale. but yeah Joshua would punish Wilders lack of defence and ko him mid rounds if they ever fight.
None of them have “glass” or “fragile” chins tbh. Joshua took a real beating from Wlad for a couple of rounds, while gasping for air. He went down, got up, and continued to survive the onslaught. Average chin. Same with Wilder. He was out on his feet against Ortiz, one of the real heavy hitters of the division. But he did not crack, he pulled through. Again, average chin.
Wilder has a shaky chin. This is why his management kept him away from anybody remotely decent for the first 5-6 years of his career, and while he has faced carefully selected mediocrities ever since. The answers to why Wilder's record is so pathetic is found in his fragile chinny chin chin!!
