I'm okay with this as a 2nd fight in a comeback from severe mental illness, drug addiction, inactivity and morbid obesity...

LOL, Wlad fought Pianeta 5 (five) years ago when he was unbeaten. Pianeta has a win over Duhaupas, the guy that left Wilder looking like he was in a traffic accident. Fury's fighting a well shot version of Pianeta that doesn't pose a threat to old people, nevermind a world class boxer. I guess that tells you all you need to know about the state of the HW division today.

It’s funny people will say when someone comes back before they actually do you’ll read oh he needs a couple easy fights or tune ups and then start moving up in competition.... and when the fighter is actually doing that people will still complain lol

I'm not complaining. Fury needs to do what he needs to do to get back into fighting trim. But Pianeta is not a top fighter anymore and people shouldn't make out that he is.

Pianeta is a faded former fringe contender who isn’t a threat to any top fighter but he’s better than Fury’s last opponent and i don’t see anything wrong with this fight.

Fury is coming off a long layoff and a huge weight gain, he’d probably benefit from another fight or two like this, with a slight step up each time, after this.

The good thing is that this fight is only two months after his last one. A handful of low level fights are fine for Fury especially if he gets them in quickly.

He needs few easy wins to boost his confidence

Fury's opposition is about right imo.
theres no point in fighting a bum and then going big, that not smart, safe or healthy.
to get back in contention he should probably have around 6 or 7 fights, lets be honest.

not everyone is or can be moved as quickly as anthony joshua has been especially from a dark point fury was at
AJ has set a misleading president for future fighters by moving so quickly to get belts,
wilder needs 32 plus fights to get a title shot. other fighters at different weights are up to 30 to 40 fights before they have any big fights.

I think 6 or 7 might be a stretch. But if Fury stays as active as he is scheduled to be at the moment, then he will definitely have the 3-4 tuneups.

True, people are impatient, they know he isn't fighting anyone with a hope anytime soon but still rip into him until he does. If he did fight anyone decent soon they'd probably criticise him for taking a stupid risk and jeopardising a future Joshua fight and ruining it for all the fans, lol.

I have no problem with Fury easing his way back in to boxing, he was in a terrible state mentally and physically and it will take some time, so it is what it is, another little step..

But Fury needs to shut his mouth, stop being an idiot and calling out Joshua, Wilder and the rest and just get on with his career.

If he just gets on with his career I don't think many can criticise him considering where he has come from, it wasn't just a short break from boxing and he stayed in the gym, he ate and drank himself stupid and let himself go completely.

It is going to take time and patience.

If it wasn't for all his out of ring antics, the calling out, dressing up as batman, he'd quickly be forgotten, he needs to stay in peoples minds and the only way he does that is by being the loud mouth, trash talker he's always been.

He's actually become more popular and well known during his period of inactivity, it maybe that the inactivity helped. By not fighting and just talking trash, people could just focus on how entertaining he was out of the ring while forgetting how boring he was in it at times.

Nice type opponent to take on & not really all that big of a risk. Biggest risk in the bout is hurting his hands or shoulder or getting cut. Outside of suffering any of that stuff, a nice stay busy fight. Something a whole lot of top 10 guys do not do---stay busy.
