Seems like he doesn’t fancy the journeyman route he took.

That's probably for the best. Maybe he can use his charm and the goodwill for him to carve out a living outside the ring.

Come back in four years looking like AJ:coleman:Vanilla Gorilla.

Jk for real though getting hit in the head is no joke. Best to let the concussions heal

If he had better hands he could've gone far. Toughness and chin not in doubt.

Good man. I like him and it hurt me seeing him get beaten up, he really kept trying to operate at a level beyond his ability and it wasn't doing him any good.

Better hands, the guy has absolutely no abilities, all he has is his chin and his heart. He couldn’t have gone far unless he started boxing 10 years earlier

He could have continued competing at British Level in my opinion.

Love the bloke, he is simply not good enough to earn enough money as a boxer, no point carrying on when all it will do for him is cut 25 years off his life expectancy.

Great personality but the yoka fight was a joke turns up way overweight takes it on short notice yet turns down a full training camp and more money for a DD fight.

Good for him. His head was clearly not in the right place.

Allen's always going to be crude, but he isn't totally devoid of talent. He should focus on getting into shape and honing his defence and ring cutting abilities before he even attempts to step back in the gym. Being teak tough is great, but it's not something to rely on when all your other skills are so lacking.

interesting usually it's the opposite... In the beginning boxers feel punches, then later they toughen up...

Good call. Professional boxing is unforgiving, and by its nature very unforgiving for guys like Allen.

Most other sports have levels and divisions, and if you want to compete at the top, you have to prove yourself in a structured system. In boxing, guys like Allen are actively fed to people on a completely different level. Brutal really.

    He should go into punditry.

Hmm I guess but he lost to lenroy Thomas, maybe if Gorman, Dubois, Joyce and these guys leave British level to go to world level then he has a chance to win something. I think Dave can compete with Sexton, Cornish, tom little etc
