Joet Gonzalez vs Rafael Rivera, 10 rounds for the vacant NABO Featherweight Title

 

Round 1: 10-9 Rivera

Gonzalez circling clockwise throwing one jab at a time, with Rivera countering over the top but missing. Rivera eats a jab , then backs Gonzalez to the ropes and bangs to the body. Gonzalez comes off the ropes and lands a left hand. Rivera with multiple jabs, backs Gonzalez to the ropes again.

 

Round 1: 10-9 Rivera
Round 2: 10-9 Gonzalez

Gonzalez again allows his back to get on the ropes, and Rivera obliges with some more body shots. Gonzalez gets in a straight right hand. One two from Rivera. Good right hand from Gonzalez countered by a left hand to the body from Rivera. Gonzalez starting to warm up now letting his hands go and getting some good shots in. Rivera did well but Gonzalez gets the round on the better activity

Gonzalez snaps Rivera's head back with a sharp jab. Gonzalez has tightened up his defense a bit blocking the shots from Rivera. Rivera gets in close and bangs to the body and Gonzalez returns fire up top. The exchange doesn't last long because Rivera backed off. Another nice body shot from Rivera at the end of the round. Close round.

Rivera more active with his double jab to start the round. Good four punch combination from Rivera. Gonzalez takes most of the first half of the round off, then tries to pick up the pace , good uppercut from Gonzalez. Rivera getting roughed up a bit now as Gonzalez is working hard on the inside. They stand and trade in the center of the ring to end the round. Another close round, with Rivera winning the first half, and Gonzalez winning the second half

Rivera again starts with the body work, and Gonzalez blocks all of the shots to his head. Another slow start to the round for Gonzalez. Right hand from Gonzlaez answered with a right hand from Rivera. Rivera busier than Gonzalez even though he didn't land anything too significant, it was enough to get him the round.
