Usyk vs Gassiev undercard looks absolutely great!

    Fedor Chudinov (17-2-0) vs Nadjib Mohammedi (40-5-0)
    Chudinov was a great amateur, 170 bouts and 170 wins. He was a great prospect and i still believe he has it. He was robbed vs Sturm in the second fight and fought very close six rounds with Groves. Mohammedi looked great in his recent fight and is a very experienced contender but lost every time he stepped up the level of opposition. Great and competitive fight.

    Andrey Sirotkin (15-0-0) vs Vladimir Shishkin (6-0-0)
    Great matchup. Two undefeated russian prospects although Sirotkin is 33 as he turned pro late. Shishkin is looking very promising so far.

    Magomed Madiev (11-0-0) vs Marcelo Fabian Caceres (17-3-0)
    Madiev is another great MW prospect from Russia, he looks great so far and Caceres is a heavy handed !! opponent, very dangerous guy who can easily knock the **** out. Great matchup as Madiev is more the technical boxer while Caceres is a straight forward pressure fighter. Very tough opponent for Madiev, we will see how he deals with such types of opposition.

    Denis Shafikov (39-4-1) vs Jhon Gemino (17-10-0)
    Shafikov fought for a world title three times in his career and if we are considering that he is probably past his prime (last approach wasn't that good at all) this could be more competitive than most are thinking.

    Konstantin Ponomarev (34-0-0) vs Sergey Vorobiev (6-0-0)
    Ponomarev is 25 years old and already has fought 34 bouts undefeated. Vorobiev is a great prospect, two years younger than Ponomarev, turned pro in 2016 and has 6 wins including 6 knockouts.

    a women bout: Braekhus fighting Sagaydakovskaya

    undefeated ukrainian SW prospect Serhii Bohachuk (9-0-0 /9 KOs)

    undefeated russian SW prospect Shakhabas Makhmudov (21 years old, 2-0-0 /2KOs)

    And of course the main fight Usyk vs Gassiev.

    This is a huge card. Almost every bout has at least one interesting fighter or a great matchup.

    Ponanmarev disappoints me. They pulled him out of two fights with Spence. I thought he was a GREAT prospect.

    Do we know how's the promotion and ticket sales are going? It's world cup and all but there's barely any hype coming through I feel. Great, great event obviously.

    His mistake was signing with Top Rank. I hope he's free of them now.

    He should sign with Egis Klimas and/or Main Events and get on Kovalev cards in the future, or sign with a good promoter who will get him into meaningful fights like Hearn or Golden Boy.

    Yep, looking forward to it. Didn't know too much about some of the lower ranked prospects so was a little suspicious but this give me some optimism.

    It's funny cause I just happened to watch some Vorobiev fights just before this fight was announced.
    Vorobiev has some serious pop in his punches he can really bang I was impressed. Ponomorev looked like a nice prospect, but doesn't seem to want to step up and apparently didn't look good in his last fight. This should be a good fight and could be a potential upset!

    Ponomarev has actually been wanting to step up for several years now, but he's been the victim of poor management.

    He was put into meaningless fight after meaningless fight with very poor pay until finally he started to decline. Same happened to many others, such as Korobov, Mekhontsev, Zewski, etc.

    Yes. As much as I despise Uncle Bob though, he does do great work for SOME fighter's careers. If you have talent, Bobby will build you up and then hype you in a bunch of quasi set-ups to extend your career (alternatively with screwing you to build up interest). That's the main reason Paq is still fighting after 23 years.
