Parker needs to KO him to win and do it quickly as if Whyte has him in trouble at any point the ref will stop it. He has no chance of winning on points either.
Before Parker/Fury people said the fix was in too, but it went to the cards and Parker won the decision.
I think Parker wins a UD over Whyte, I think he's to fast, has better stamina, a better chin and just moves better around the ring then Whyte. I think Whytes only chance is to blitz Parker early but that's really risky but that's the only reasonable chance I give Whyte.
Not only has Parker not KO'd anyone in 4 fights, he also hasn't really wobbled or hurt anyone in 48 rounds. I have him winning on points but it's a 60/40 fight on the day. More like 75/25 if it was on neutral ground.
The problem there was the complete and utter refused of Hughie Fury to engage in anything other than backing away from his opponent. He could have put a little effort in...
Absolutely does. But for him to be favourite seems strange to me, and despite being a Parker fan I feel I have been pretty level with all of my picks for him so far - in fact I was one of the few who said Takam was going to be a fairly scary fight for him at that point. I rate Whyte as less of a threat than Hughie Fury, Carlos Takam and Andy Ruiz at the time Parker fought them tbh.
Because Whyte learned so much from the AJ fight, regrouped and came back much stronger. Parker I feel will be the same fighter who isn't close to the level of AJ, DW and Whyte.
