Hard to say, since this fight didn't answer any questions about Usyk, but instead raised more questions about him, since I knew Usyk was going to easily beat Gassiev, but disappointed that this fight confirmed that Usyk is a very light punchrt. Also his stamina looked really suspect in the middle rounds.
lol, I thought he looked incredible...Hayes a hard task, unorthodox, pure ko power, angles...Its up in the air for me...Could see Usyk peppering him and getting took out with one shot while looking slightly in command...I actually think a prime Haye at cruiser is top of the food chain, stands with anyone at their best at that weight Holy, Usyk etc
Uysk is the better boxer Haye has more power. I pick Usyk UD or late TKO but Haye would be very dangerous for the first six rounds.
Usyk's resume at CW Prime: Briedis, Gassiev, Glowacki, Hunter, Mchunu Past prime: Huck Haye's resume at CW Prime: McCarinelli, Fragomeni Past prime: Mormeck, Gurov Uncomparable at all. Skills: Usyk is WAY more skilled. Haye's success was based purely on athletic abilities, his skills wasn't that good, while Usyk has great skills both offensive and defensive. Both have great speed. Haye has way more power. Usyk' stamina is far better. I think Usyk would've outboxed Haye, maybe losing some of early rounds while studying Haye in the process, and then would've stopped him late after Haye fading in the second half of the fight. Had the fight lasted full 12, Usyk would still have won pretty clearly.
2slyk kos Haye midrounds. I doubt haye turns up to be fair, he'll be sure to walk into a roadsign on the way and stub a toe.
Haye wasn't particularly smart either. Usyk would easily figure him out and neutralise his ambush attacks and wild counters then proceed to go to work in the later stages of the fight. Take away Haye's speed and power and he's really a very ordinary fighter.
Listen, Usyk would be heavy favourite but Haye would have a far greater chance of landing a KO punch than “shades of Lemieux and Abraham” Gassiev.
I'm a big Haye fan but think Usyk's style gives him fits. Haye's a natural counter puncher, he does best when guys come to him and walk into his powerful counters, like Mormeck, Ruiz and Chisora. Usyk's movement would force Haye to chase which isn't his forte and Usyk's work rate would be too much for Haye who was never a volume puncher and struggled to make cruiserweight. It would be competitive, Haye is no joke but he just gets out boxed and out worked and loses a decision. Don't think Usyk gets the KO, Haye could be very elusive at times. So points it is.
Haye/Dorticos or Haye/Gassiev are better fights for Haye. Usyk would give him kittens with his output.
