Usyk turns in a Calzaghe type performance

    That was a Calzaghe type performance. A career defining fight that has put him on the pedestal of PFP greats.

    Reminded me of lacy type beat down.

    Usyk has world and HW division at his feet now. And God help anyone that stands in his way.

    Bring on Bellew at Wembley stadium

    no gassiev was better than Lacy, so 2Slyks performance dwarfs joes that night.

    It was very similar. Time will tell as to whether Gassiev is better than Lacy (probably is), but the top quality footwork, high workrate and pitterpatter from all angles just made Gass look like a charging bull in the same was Lacy did.

    Wait for him to charge in, slap the hook in, step to right and send him off in the other direction.

    Id wager good money that people will soon get upset with Usyk if he keeps fighting like that - dominating fights without any knockout power

    he has power, he just uses skill. Hes a 210ish pound man.

    Your mate Calzaghe had power too, but just used workrate and skill instead. There are similarities there, although Usyks resume is already ahead of Joe imo

    no joe didnt have power, he had a ref in his pocket. There is no evidence of that with Slyk.

    Can we have just one Calzaghe thread without this loser Herol making about 40% of all the replies. What an oddball, ban him from all Calzaghe threads!

    Usyk's superb performance reminded me of Calzaghe's unreal performance against Lacy. Two performances for the history books. 2 unreal fighters.

    That was better. Gassiev is a much better fighter than Lacy.

    I said about the 5th or 6th round in the RBR thread it could end up being a Calzaghe/Lacy type domination. Usyk with his fast hands, southpaw style, work rate does remind me of Calzaghe a lot, though his technique is better, he's more elusive and he's a better counter puncher.

    I tend to disagree .... Lacy was touted by the American's as mini Tyson. And he had better KO ratio.

    Lacy was better pound for pound then plodding dumbfounded gassiev.

    Still a master at work usyk take nothing away.
