It's kind of fizzled out sadly.

Most of the blame should be placed at the feet of his no show rivals who never wanted anything to do with him until he hit his mid thirties.

I see the same thing happening to Wilder.

Which is why boxing should force the best to fight the best or else they are banned and stripped of their belts.

 

Ho-hum. I'd like to see him vs Saunders tbh. But I'm guessing that age is catching up with GGG fast if they want him to fight De Gale. Even Murata and / or Dereb\vyanchenko excite me more.

 

I don't rate Degale at all, and for me, he's not a 'Waste of talent', he was just never that talented to begin with.


But, he went 12 in a competitive draw with a guy now looking to take over LHW. (I had Degale losing by 1, but still)


GGG wins by stoppage and it does add to his resume imo.
But i'd rather see him fight Saunders.

Saunders v GGG is one of the best stylistic matchups in the sport imo.

I have to agree here, if GGG fight this complete waste of space his standing will go down & rightly so! I'd love to see groves with GGG that is a challenge IMO for GGG

 

GGG has entered the twilight of his career and is visibly on the decline. We have already seen the best he had to offer and it's all down hill from here, hence why he's picking his fights very carefully. Can you blame him?

 

Surely be better to fight the winner of WBSS.

 

His resume isn't good enough for him to do that. If he beats canelo then he better not fight degale, that would be a joke

 

Is that what dictates a challenge to you, having to be an underdog for it to be a challenge? Every fight Canelo was in where he was the favorite meant he wasn't challenging himself? Every fighter who fights as the favorite isn't challenging himself? Great logic. Ward was a slight favorite when he faced Kovalev. Guess he wasn't REALLY challenging himself. Plus he got his demands met and made a good pay day. Guess he wasn't really challenging himself there, as everyone liked to say.
