Usyk isn't as proven as Wlad and doesn't have Wlad's size, power, or experience. Wlad was able to keep Haye honest because Wlad has a crushing right hand and left hook to end Haye along with a clever jab. Usyk has faster hands and feet than Wlad, but if Haye doesn't feel any power coming from Usyk he'll start throwing heavy leather to end it early.

I still think the jury is out on how good Usyk really is until he goes up to heavyweight and at least wins title, since the competition at cruiserweight has to be some of the weakest in boxing. Usyk like Crawford at 140 was a very good fighter among mediocre to average fighters.

The two best cruiserweights in my mind were Usyk and Bellew, but because cruiserweight division has no money or prestige Bellew dumped his WBC belt for bigger and better things at heavyweight. Hopefully they end up having a match, so everyone can see who's better.

Say what you want I still think haye would have knocked usyk out. Usyk,s class. Footworks brilliant etc. But haye really was class at cruiserweight. He hurt with almost every punch. Haye always made guys hesitant to throw in fear of what was coming back. People go on about his footwork...fundamentally it wasn't great...but for what he was trying to do...it was great. Wide stance. Keeping a distance between him and his opponent. For the opponent to get off first they had to take that risk of falling short. Knowing haye was a very good counter puncher. It put a lot of guys off throwing...letting haye get off first with his fast hands. As good as Usyk is...he,d try to outbox haye on the backfoot. But if the other night was anything to go by...he,d have slowed down. Was breathing heavy pretty early from a relatively slow paced fight. I think usyk like lomachenko have elite level skills...it sometimes takes more than skill to win a fight tho. I d back haye to knock him out.

The point is that a good fighter can shut down another fighter and make them look average. Gassiev wasn't known for being a walking statue in previous fights, but he became one in the Usyk fight due to what Usyk was doing to him. Usyk's lack of power didn't seem to be an issue there, and Haye's chin was, I suspect, of an inferior quality to Murat's.

I agree that the jury's still out on Usyk, but the fact that he virtually cleaned out the stacked CW division has to count highly in his favour at HW.

Haye was good, but Usyk is levels above Haye.

Usyk would make him look bad.

LOL Usyk is a completely different league than Haye ever was. Haye would have ducked Usyk and never fought him. Too big of a risk for small purse.

Usyk on point, or Haye uses his vastly superior speed and better timing to land a devastating KO blow. I'd lean towards Haye to be honest, his power was other worldly at cruiser.

Usyk would make a fool out of Haye.

Just look at what Thompson did to him

Let's be real here, Usyk is on another level to Haye when it comes to skill-set but Haye was rarely the better boxer in many of his fights. But at his peak he was an extraordinary athlete with otherworldly power. He was also a merciless finisher and created openings with fast, powerful counter punches. There is no game plan which can easily account for these attributes, so it's a live fight.

You can't look at the way Usyk boxed at the weekend and argue he would execute that game plan vs Haye, no CW planned to stay in punching range for 12 rounds against him for a reason. I suspect Uysk would have been relatively cautious for the first five rounds or so, and wait for Haye's poor stamina to take effect, only then taking the fight to him.

That's Haye's window for a stoppage win - those early rounds. Beyond that point, I see Usyk breaking him down and perhaps stopping him on his feet or securing a close UD. But Haye can win this fight early if Usyk, boxing in an unfamiliar way, made the slightest error.

Usyk beats him handily. I say that with confidence.

Maybe interesting fight for first few rounds then all Usyk afterwards

What an excellent fight that would have been. Haye was annoying personality, but he had elite power, speed and style that makes him difficult opponent for anyone, including Usyk.

The fact that Haye fought Wlad is an indication he wanted to fight the best, and he would have fought Usyk as well. The fact that Wlad was hesitant and careful not to walk any Hayes punches is an indication Usyk would have the same fate. Haye could hurt Wlad so why would Usyk be any different. The speed, power and accuracy of David Hayes punches would definately play a factor.

Hard to say who would win, but I have to say Usyk 12UD or Haye 6TKO.

Haye went life and death with Mormeck and Fragomeni, and got KO'd by a very old Carl Thompson. Usyk would have beaten all of those with ease.

Like it or not, he stopped pretty much every opponent he beat. Not sure how anyone can really question his power.
